I think its impossible to pick a favoirate video game. You can go back to classic systems like the NES and pick from all kinds of games from that era. Sega Genisis was a good system, and so was Super Nintendo. When you get into the realm of "next generation consoles", the games branch out into several different generas, making it damn impossible to pick a favorate. I could prolly put together a top-10, but not pick a favorate.

i'd class my favourite games as ones that have redefined my opinion of computer games and have had a distinct influence on my life. i cant have one favourite game (ok i can its the no.1) but i can have a top 51. best game of all time: PongFavorite game: pong, or MGS2:SOL Posted by veistran on May 28 2002,06:38
heh, I had that game on floppies first and loved it so much I had to buy it on CD when the CD version came out. The CD version blew the floppy version away, it was much more immersing and fun. Posted by veilside on May 31 2002,01:57
final fantasy 7 is definitely one of the best. (a tearjerker indeed.) but right now i'm playing through final fantasy tactics for the 3rd time.. this game is just THE greatest.

Favorite games of all time...X-COM! (1 or 2)... I hear they are currently working on my ultimate dream project - an updated 3D version of the good old isomorphic turn-based XCOM!!! I hope it will have multiplayer... Operation Flashpoint - the most realistic FPS I have played, and the scope/freedom of the simulation is amazing; I've gone through some missions nine or ten times finding new ways to win... If only the online play didn't suck. (and the @#$@ M21 were lethal with one shot) Lunar Lander - the PC versions are OK but nothing beats the old vector-graphics stand-up machine with the real thrust lever... Any of the LucasArts/Totally Games X-Wing/TIE games - For fulfilling my fantasy of being "in" the Battle of Endor, and just generally kicking ass... Space Quest - 1 (VGA edition), 3, 4, and 5 especially... Monkey Island 1 & 2 - the best sword combat system ever! True Combat (IMHO the best Quake3 realism mod; sadly it never really took off) Posted by Bozeman on Jun. 10 2002,14:47
Anything by BlizzardFF6 (or FF3 for SNES) Chrono Trigger (fuck sequels) Star Fox 64 Rogue Leader II for gamecube Pikmin (you have an army of minions to do your bidding, what more could you ask for in a game?) The Myst Trilogy ($40 at local game stores, if you haven't checked it out, I suggest you do so.) Worms: Armageddon Almost any NES game Every Zelda title except Majora's Mask (never played it) including the gameboy titles (excepting non-nintendo ports, like the v-cd text version with the worst art ever) For you Mac users, Escape Velocity and Escape Velocity: Override. (mac users go to < http://www.ambrosiasoftware.com > to see) As for non-electronic games, I currently play Warhammer Fantasy (Empire) Warhammer 40k (Salamanders Space Marines) and Mage: The Ascension (good old white wolf games...) Startin' up a Star Wars campaign later. Posted by joelthegreat on Jun. 10 2002,15:13
Monopoly Rules!I have: Star Wars Trilogy version (PC-CDROM) Regular Monopoly (Palm OS), SW Classic Trilogy, SW Episode 1, Simpsons, Scooby Doo, dot-com edition, Millenium edition, Disney Edition, Justice League edition, and Inflateable Monoply! Fun as hell to take one or two of them to a local Denny's and sit and play for six hours. Posted by Wiley on Jun. 10 2002,15:23
Oh my god ...I've seen you there! I'm the guy who was throwing french frys at you and your looser friends. Do you remember me? Wassup dude! Posted by joelthegreat on Jun. 10 2002,15:31
Actually, no one has thrown fries at me and my (L)user friends. I mean my uhm....non loser friends?? (yeah right) Posted by Wiley on Jun. 10 2002,16:49
I'm just kidding, I don't think you're a loser.Edit: Joel, I just visted your Homepage and I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to go back with my original ruling of loser. I mean, for god's sake man ..put something other then Under Construction and then a link where I can pay you a buck. You have a wife ...get her to pose naked or something ..then we'll talk about the dollar. Posted by joelthegreat on Jun. 10 2002,17:34
So my home page sucks, byte me. There is a little more under the the menu on the left. Right now it's a work in progress. I'm sorry I don't have all the time in the world to work on it. I have a job, a wife, friends, an actual life. So, working on my space on the net isn't top priority. And I am a family man, and I am not going to have my wife pose nude for pictures that *you* (the public) can see. If you want porn on a webpage, start your own. And that dollar thing is there for simple shits and giggles, I know nobody will donate shit, but some day some n00b like me might come along and I'll get $5. You give poop a bad name. And there, it doesn't say "under construction" anymore....Happy now? Posted by Wiley on Jun. 10 2002,18:33
A family man? With that potty mouth? For shame.
I would be happier if it said Wiley is a GOD!! Bow to him and accept him as your master! ...y'know ...something catchy like that. That would kick ass. Posted by joelthegreat on Jun. 10 2002,19:01
Yes. I am a family man. I do not have a child yet, and I wouldn't let my child visit such sites as this due to it's content. But I am old enough and know better. Therefore I have no problem being on this site and using the word "shit." It's not that bad of a word. I could say worse things... Especially about those who think they are something there not *CO-wiley-UGH*If you pay me enough I'll put whatever you want me to say about you on my site. Just the more you want the more it'll cost you. Posted by Beldurin on Jun. 10 2002,19:12

Apparently they're not English majors And are you saying that I am not a god? I am too a god, I have many, many god-like qualities. Maybe you doubt my power because I haven't finished writing my book ...which I then plan on giving to a bunch of people who are looking for a place to fit in. I will mold their eager minds to do my bidding and then ...well ...let's just let that be a surprise. But if you want to say worse things about me then you can pretty much go ahead and do so, I really don't let much get me down these days. Posted by joelthegreat on Jun. 10 2002,21:17
So english is not my bestest language. Small typo's every now and then never hurt any body.If you are a god as you say you are...are you a vengful or forgiving god? Ha Ha Ha Thud!!! Posted by Wiley on Jun. 10 2002,21:21
Vengful ...oh yes ..full of veng. And when I have venged somebody I go back and revenge them. Oh there will be much vengfulness going on durring my reign. Posted by joelthegreat on Jun. 11 2002,13:26

Metal Slug 3 for me. Love that one. Got MS1-3 and X ... damnit, MS4, decrypt! It's not decrypting! - M4H Posted by Bozeman on Jun. 12 2002,02:41
Yes, I mean NO! I mean... SHUT UP! Posted by veistran on Jun. 13 2002,18:36
I love the games, but I can't stand to pay that much for what they sell. Esp the plastics, they're overpriced, you pay almost as much for them as you did the pewter stuff in it's day and while they're a little more refined, I'd rather have the pewter.
Posted by Bozeman on Jun. 13 2002,19:57
Plasitcs are overpriced for plasitc sprues, but they charge more for the pewter. A box of ten marines is about $25.00, that's about $2.50 a marine (before tax) A blister of two marines, pewter, is $6-7, $3-3.50 per marine. The plastics are also lighter. Playing Imperial Guard Steel Legion is a pain in the ass, because you have a couple plastic tanks, and at least 80 pewter guys. My friend who plays steel legion let me heft his case, and it was pretty massive. Plastics are better for most situations. Unfortunately, GW takes you up da poopah for prices, pewter or plastic. It's a cool game though. What army, if any, do you play veistran?
Posted by veistran on Jun. 14 2002,07:07
after the price hikes, you pay as very nearly as much for plastics now as you used to pay for pewter. As I remember it prices have gone up almost across the board at least 2-3 times since 3rd edition wh40k came out. The one thing that I can think of that is a much better value is the plastic jumppacks for marines.. the pewter ones made them top heavy as hell. Some of the new plastic vehicles are considerably better values but that goes without saying the old vehicles (the mold) are you know 10yrs old or so I believe.I play Space Wolves. edit: don't forget employee's pay a big like .10 an oz for pewter Posted by Dysorderia on Jun. 14 2002,09:18

My favorite games don't necessarily agree with everyone elses opinions of the games. That's why it's my own opinion Anyways, here it comes, in no particular order:1. Shadowrun; granted the SNES and genesis versions weren't the best gamers in the world, it's the Shadowrun premise that holds a place in my heart. 2. MGS2, of course. 3. Syndicate Wars, for those who remember 4. Legacy Of Kain: Blood Omen; the Grand-daddy of 'em all. 5. Quake. The beginning of the modern de-evolution of man into the primal, rage-fueled machine that he is. Well, there are more upon my list that deserve recognition (FF7 for one) but these are the ones that I pulled off the top of my head. Enjoy Posted by Beldurin on Jul. 01 2002,05:47
