I just moved to a new place, and I setup my comp in the corner of my room and my monitor is getting all wobbly, you know like there is some kind of interference most likey magnetic related to power. I am directly above the washer and dryer I think they are are cause of my problem but I can’t move them or the computer being that this room only has two outlets one being on the other side of the room no where near a good corner for my L desk. SO what would be the best way to insulate my monitor from this interference? Any ideas?

sounds like the main power line runs through the wall behind your monitor.tinfoil: Take tinfoil and place it behind your monitor on the wall. run a wire from there to the little screw on the faceplate of your outlet. this should ground any signal comming from the mains. you can even paint it to match the wall.
Metal window screen works too if you do it the same way. (ground it)

i just did some investigation in the basement and the main line is in fact underneath me so the foil is not going to help me much as tapeing foil to a floor that is walked over a lot might be a problem

degauss it! you can never have enough of degaussing a monitor. i broke m last one in 2 weeks from constantly pressing that button its great fun..... WEE look its all wobbly!

I wear aluminum foil under my hat to stop them from beaming radio signals into my head.
Seriously though...have you thought about *gasp* moving your computer?

even better.
If you can do it wrap the wires in tin/aluminum foil and ground it to something.
all your trying to do is take the RF noise being generated by the power lines and send it to ground.

try getting power from a different circut (i.e. plug your shit into a different outlet.)

In retrospect, I would get another monitor in the same place and see if it's screwed too.That would eliminate the monitor, leaving the PC and the power as the possible culprits.
Mine gets wobbly too, I just whack it.

Are your speakers magnetically shielded?In the move, did you place any other AC device closer to the monitor than it was before? Chargers etc.
I had a similar problem with a workstation once. A high power battery charger was on the floor and the monitor input cable was looped down near it.
Try moving that if it's not a shielded cable..

You can also buy "ferrets"(sp?) for a reasonable price that clip onto monitor cables and do a fine job of shielding.
