I have no use for MS WinMessenger.I live on ICQ. Damn thing turns on all the time and I can't uninstall it. It's "protected". I wrote to MS and they replied in about 12 hours. I have a human's name, a case number, and a link to a page where I can delete its registry. That was faaaaasssstttt. Posted by just_dave on Jun. 27 2002,22:06

Start\Run\gpedit.mscHere you can enable "Do not allow Windows Messenger to be run" and "Do not automatically start Windows Messenger initially" Posted by forumwhore on Jun. 28 2002,17:10

(goes to flagellate Oni)They wrote back THREE times to ask if I was happy. I'm starting to like those guys. Posted by ^Oni^ on Jul. 02 2002,14:10
All I can think of when I hear the term 'flagellate' is parameciums with their flagellums. Their email support is good. Their phone support is $34.95. Posted by BlackFlag on Jul. 02 2002,14:46
couldn't you just go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\current version\ and delete the damn thing from \run,\run services etc.???( </l3rk> in case you didn't notice ) Posted by Beastie Dr on Jul. 02 2002,23:07

OK, they wrote back *four times to ask if I was happy.I'd be happier if WinMessenger warn't there to begin with... Posted by Wiley on Jul. 03 2002,04:19
It comes back in XP. This is some great marketing by MS ...it's a feature, not a bug. |
