Ok I have my friends computer because I am fixing/upgrading it.  I'm just upgrading the RAM for now but I'm having problems.  The computer orignally came with 4 8MB sticks of SIMM RAM in pairs of 2.  So I went to crucial and bought a pair of 16MB SIMM sticks.  I put them in the computer with two 8MB but when the computer started it only read the two 8MB and ignored the two 16MB.  I took out the two 8MB's and it read the tow 16's so I know that they are OK.  I have no idea what could be wrong I tired changing order and that did not work.  So any ideas?

Help greatly appreciated.

This sort of thing happens when two types/brands of memory are not compatable with each other.

I got a 64mb chip that wouldn't work with the 256's and 128 i got in this box, but work fine in my other box with a 128 and another 64.
