ok i found a round piece of metal sitting on my modem indside my comp today. i got rid of it and nothing seems to have changed but i was just wondergin if that would have any purpose?

holy shit that'll create a small magnetic field around your computer, destroying all data, and more inportantly building in size for every bit you download, which will led to an explosion equal to a supernova, creating a blackhole and we'll all die!!! YOU IDIOT!!!!

naw, I'm just playing... I don't think it does anything... that or I'm thinking of a different metal ring...

It could have been your cmos battery or perhaps a "chad" from your mobo. Sometimes they dont punch the ground connectors on the mobos all the way throught and they fall of later(like a belly button) and youll move you case and hear a rattle.
