Forum: Geek Forum Topic: PSX controller on PC? (USB) started by: PersonGuy Posted by Observer on Sep. 09 2001,11:26
A friend of mine has one of the USB ones. Its drawback is that rumble fx aren't supported, and Win2k didn't always detect it for him.I made a DPadPro interface which connects through the LPT port. Supports rumble fx on most newer games if you attach a 9v battery (or a wall wart). Some controllers will require this supply just to function properly because they weren't wired to use the correct power pin. The website for DPadPro is no longer up, but I do have all the drivers and diagrams if anyone wants them. Just email me. DPadPro does not work under Win2k, btw. ------------------ Posted by PersonGuy on Sep. 09 2001,17:14
Anyone got a favorite adapter? I know they exist... I'm just not sure which are best.------------------ Posted by The_Stomper on Sep. 09 2001,23:28
Just buy a HammerheadFX or something of the nature. Just like a Dual Shock, but bigger and translucent black.(BTW, the HammerheadFX is the controller used by the XBox devteam.) Posted by Observer on Sep. 10 2001,00:29
How much do those run? Because you can get a 3rd party PSX controller for under ฤ. The DPadPro costs about ฟ to make, but if done right, it should last through a couple of controllers.------------------ Posted by The_Stomper on Sep. 11 2001,05:03
HammerheadFX was ุ CDN brand new about a year and a half ago - it's gotta be about ฤ by now.
