get a geforce 3 they're about the same price as the GF2ultras are anywayz. other than that i think thats about right depending on the quality ram you want. ------------------ quote: < Where's your self re-cocking-spect > This message has been edited by Dark Knight Bob on August 13, 2001 at 07:49 PM Posted by gambit on Aug. 13 2001,01:27

quote: IMO it depends on the motherboard. Right now my AGP is old, I got my motherboard a little bit after they first came out. If you have a new motherboard that supports all that 2X/4X fast write stuff go for a Geforce3. You might be able to get one on ebay now for under 300. ------------------ Posted by The_Stomper on Aug. 13 2001,14:09
The best deal for geForce3's is the Gainward - they retail for around 跠 USD and they're the best in 2D/3D.

Even after everyone's warning not to buy a pre-built pc I am going to have to because I have no experience in assembling computers nor do I know someone who does. Does anyone know of any good sites that would let me sustomize my own computer? Thanks------------------ Posted by porn_dealer on Aug. 14 2001,02:15

btw, can someone explain the difference between AMD Tbirds and Athlons? Which is better? I know that Tbirds are Socket A and Athlons are Slot A. Posted by Dark Knight Bob on Aug. 14 2001,14:19
a Tbird is athe NEW batch of athlons ranging into the GHz range its just that the TBirds are the socket A versions. The K7 or old Athlons were the slot A ones. that is the only difference.if you ask for an athlon today you will 99\% be given a TBird as AMD dont manufacture the old K7's any more ------------------ quote: < Where's your self re-cocking-spect > This message has been edited by Dark Knight Bob on August 15, 2001 at 09:20 AM Posted by TheTaxMan on Aug. 15 2001,05:18
