yeah, i kinda posted this and then went out and did research. i looked at the < sites powered by proftp > pretty cool i thought. so i went and apt-got it.

I have the same preference.

Proftpd just r0x0rz j00r b0x0rz. Very stable, low cpu load, and SECURE.

right well i want to setup ftp. so um whats a good program to choose? any good HOWTO's you could point me to?

wu-ftp is bad

Go with proftp (proftpd, same thing, d meaning daemon)

the site for proftp has install instructions etc. Google it.
