Didn't realize the fire & brimstone would come raining down ... the link is to the registered MS beta version which expires after 15 days (and hasn't successfully been cracked AFAIK) - I was hoping people could try it out & get a feel before resorting to warezing it or blowing 跌 on an OS that bites nutz.

/me apologizes to cr0bar

I wish i was a l337 h4x0r... oh well.. guess I won't get windows xp.. going to have to settle for linux.. muahahah ha. oh btw.. is there any different between xp and win2k pro? All I've heard so far is well.. nothing, let's hope this isn't the same kind of thing microsoft was trying to pull when they released millenium(sp?) to win98.

i beleive there isn't too many changes to the kernel itself, but it has much more new features and ability to easily customize things. And all the betas i've tried have less and less bugs every time i install a new beta. i am not sure what kinds of issues might show up in the final release, but i do prefer XP over 2000. after all that is why i install new os every month and have to reinstall all my application and resetup everything .

You should be sorry!

Sorry, I just like saying that to my sister when she says sorry... or when she says "thank you" I'll just throw in a "damned straight you're thankful"

since this is in no way a warez forum i will not disclose as to where and how a copy can be obtained, but i will say that it is possible. And it had been successfully cracked. I recently saw a webside with complete breakdown of microfots new product activation systen and from reading all that u can easily get rid of it. Even if you are unable to figure out how it works, there are older fixes that still provide the workaround for the activation system. So Stomper, it has indeed been cracked successfuly. As the matter of fact they had a working crack before the version even came out.

To crack something, don't they first have to decompile everything into Assembler, and then mess around with that? Jesus, that would be a shitload of code to work with.

Well, Windows Product Activation has been cracked anyways. What's it matter?

WinXP Home = WinME v2

WinXP Pro = Win2K v2

Win.NET = New OS kernel (mmm ... 64-bit)

Posted by kornalldaway on Jul. 25 2001,14:03
not true, from what i read WinXP Home Edition still runs on a kernel as opposed to a windows codebase, therefore it's not in any way version 2 of ME. More it's a version 2 of NT workstation. As for the .net one, it's not a 64 bit one. WinXP64 is the 64 bit one, .NET comes in both 64bit, 32bit both server and professional.
As for cracking activation, there are only few small dlls to disassemble, everything else doesn't even require disassembling.

Disassemble! Dead! No disassemble Number 5!
