i need a program that can compile a bunch of bmp's to an avi file and compress it, possibly adding sound too (although sound is not important). anyone know of such a program?

How many BMPs are we talking about, and are they nicely structured & ordered? If there's just a few you may be able to pull it off with Flash; as far as making an AVI it beats the hell outta me.

no i need to put it in a power point presentation and also use it for a few other apps, it needs to be mpeg or avi. the bmp's are all from from a 3d program which outputs each frame as a bmp. i just need to compile them to an avi.

I haven't tried it myself, but I believe if you "register" your copy of QT 4/5, you can make slideshow movies with sound (remember the QT version of the MatrixSE bastardization) and save them in your video format of choice.

I've done it with Corel 8, but it's a pain in the ass for long animations.

There should be an option in any decent 3D rendering program to Render to AVI... I know there are 3rd party progs for this but offhand I can't think of any.

#include /usr/local/adobe

You should be able to do it rather easily with Adobe Premiere if you "purchase" a copy.

That or Corel Lumiere. It's a pretty old program, but it's super fucking easy to use.
