Isn't it about time that this dream should be realised?

Is there capacity on twisted or the boomgames server for it's own IRCd?

If not, why not set up an official channel? Not on somewhere like EFNET, more like irc.openprojects.net.

lets get it done. It wont get done if its not organised (like previous attempts where everyone would visit but one at a time so it got canned)

#detnet's been on efnet since it started. That's where it'll probably always be. You can go make a #detnetforums somewhere else, but #detnet on efnet is there. so screw you!

And what do you do there? Nothing, just set your IRC client to join there when your comp boots, no doubt. I'm talking about an active one thats not horribly unreliable like efnet.

actually, I do have it set for autojoin. A lot more interesting then the lot of you people.

Join around 10pm EST. That's when conversation usually starts.

Anyways, if you wanna bitch about it, go start your own channel then. I could really care less, and I doubt I could care more. Oh, and if you find efnet unreliable, to freaking bad. Let me guess, you fell in love with dalnet's chanserv, didn't you?

No, personally, I use IRCNet. I don't like Dalnet, it's full of pedophiles

I suggested either an ircd on detnet itself (k-rad) or one thats not oversubscribed/suffering from ddos attacks (openprojects).

Just seems a better idea.

I'd run an ircd on the detbox but traditionally, these endeavours end up being ten times the hassle originally anticipated. Besides, right now I'm working on upgrading to ikonboard.
