I have heard rumors that the Xbox has been greenscreening in stores...... I also know that they pushed back the initial release date a week or two--- may be conicidance. and those kiosks can get pretty damn hot-- has anyone here heard anything? ------------------ Posted by ASCIIMan on Oct. 28 2001,18:21
Ummm... yeah. The original pressing of the demo cds had the wrong video libraries (from a prerelease revision of the hardware), causing the demo (same hardware as shipping) XBoxen to crash. They sent out a newer pressing of the demo cds which corrected the problem, no more crashing XBoxen Posted by incubus on Oct. 28 2001,22:25
The fact that it green-screens makes me laugh my ass off.------------------ Posted by chmod on Oct. 28 2001,22:36
No matter how hard they try, Microsoft can't escape the reputation it's created for itself. HA. Posted by solid on Oct. 28 2001,22:37
Somebody enlighten me on what greenscreening is...?

I assume greenscreening is the XBox equivalent of the BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) of normal 'Doze.

I briefly saw/played an XBox in a mall store, and truthfully I wasn't blown away. The graphics were pretty ordinary, and the controller was exactly the type that I dislike. That, coupled with my hatred of all things MicroShaft, has made me vow to stay away from it.But give me a PS2 and Gran Turismo 3, and I'll forget what an XBox is altogether. I've got my XBox preordered, and have for months. I can't wait for it to get here too... i'm not sure where to put that huge friggin brick though.I love my PS2, and I love GTA3 on it, and I'm gonna love Metal Gear Solid 2 as well. I want to have the option when new games come out to be able to play them, not be barred because of my hatred for a company. I hate Sony with a passion, but I still have a PS2. Besides, XBox = built in Broadband adapter (I think... haven't checked in a while). And I can't wait to play Dead or Alive 3: Donkey Punch edition in less than 2 weeks :-D Posted by Dark Knight Bob on Nov. 02 2001,23:09

Sony will have an adapter. If the Dreamcast almost did and X-Box will you bet they will have one for the PS2. How else are people going to play Final Fantasy XI?? The X-Box controller is almost the exact same thing as one of the motion sensor controllers for PC. I dont really want an X-Box(already have a computer), my roommate prepurchased a Gamecube. Plus I bet you will have to eventually upgrade the X-Box like a computer(or the N64) to play games that will be coming out in the future.------------------ |
