CatKnight's summary is not entirely accurate. No surprise there. Read the article before posting unless you want to sound like an idiot.

well they had one orgy, atleast. and they did go to a strip club several times and they did watch their "intructor" perform sex. so its still not a good thing.

It was probably a bunch of dumb frat boys. Berkeley has plenty of those.

no! I live too close, I'd be vaporized! Try a few FAE's instead. Posted by editor on Feb. 19 2002,05:59
Fuel Air Explosiveblast comparable to a nuke, but no radiation. Clears underground bunkers, like where Dysoderia lives. Posted by CatKnight on Feb. 19 2002,07:26
no, it was an actual CLASS. for actual CREDITS. [lb]that's fucked up![/lb] Posted by damien_s_lucifer on Feb. 19 2002,07:47
It was probably the dumb frat boys who had the orgy. Or it could've been some of my friends. Who knows? Who cares? As for it being an ACTUAL CLASS with ACTUAL CREDITS... it's not like they cut out the insanely difficult core classes and replaced them with Orgies 101. This class is an elective.

so there.(fucking double post) Posted by kuru on Feb. 19 2002,11:12
My electives always were insanely difficult. I guess they just have different standards for what passes for education over at Berzerkely
Posted by damien_s_lucifer on Feb. 19 2002,19:37
No, you just took the wrong electives. One of mine was editing the student literary magazine. I spent 99% of my classtime getting stoned in the parking lot with a cute girl from my class.UC Berkeley is actually a really tough school, and its student body is generally fairly conservative. It's the City of Berkeley that sux0rs. Posted by CatKnight on Feb. 19 2002,19:44
i'm so sorry for you. mind if we trade? you can take my diffeq exam on wednesday, and i'll smoke pot/have sex/have orgy with your cute girl instead. sound fair? ![]() Posted by Nikita on Feb. 19 2002,19:51

The other hippy classes I took that semester were Calculus III, Discrete Mathematics II, The Works of Shakespeare, and The Romantics, 1789-1830. We California types sure know how to slack!edit : I went to Sonoma State University, not UC Berkeley. I had plenty of friends that attended UCB, though, and the pressure on them was insane. ugh I'm in discrete again this semester. I got a D+ last time so wheeee, I get to take it again. I love CS and programming. I abhor advanced math classes. A lot of my friends go to UCSD and study constantly. Not like me. I never study. But I'm left wondering.. If you graduate a more prestigious school, will you _really_ get that much better of a job? I don't think so. It's always who you know, not what pieces of paper you possess. Posted by damien_s_lucifer on Feb. 25 2002,09:50
True. At Ivy League schools, you meet lots of rich kids. Enough said. Posted by kuru on Feb. 26 2002,00:39
I went to pitt.edu. I got a piece of paper from there. And cmu.edu was just a couple more blocks down Fifth Ave.I have the same degree that passed the same standards of accreditation and was taught by many of the same professors. So, what's the difference? I got mine for 1/4 the price. Posted by damien_s_lucifer on Mar. 04 2002,09:47
well said.Nice thing about the UCs is that they aren't expensive. Around< $2k/semester. > I paid about $1400/sem. at SSU. Around here, the Rich Kid school is Stanford. The campus is absolutely gorgeous... but I don't think you get a better education. You do, however, get better connections. Then again, I despise Old Boys Clubs, so I don't think I lost anything by not going there... |
