If you were the opposite sex... what would you want your name to be?

If you were a girl you wouldn't have a 50' pole...

then again if you were a guy you probably wouldn't either...

If it is only translating my name to the female gender, that would be Alexandra. However, if i got to choose a different one, I have no idea of what it would be.

I think an even better question would be, "What would your name be if you had been born the opposite sex?"

Many parents, if they don't want to know the sex of the child until it is born, choose a boy name and a girl name for the baby. For instance, had I been born a girl, my name would have been Karen.

If I had been born as a boy, my name would have been "Friedrich Leopold". This is one of the reasons why I am glad to be a girl...

If I were a man, what would I like to be named... "John", or "Bryan".

Yes... that question is MUCH better! Forgive me... I had been up 30 hours when I wrote that!

Actually, my mom says that since she named me Jeep BEFORE I was born, it didn't really matter what gender I was (but she DID hope for a boy). However, for a small period of time she considered the name, 'Blailock'. Weird...

Well... I'm John J. Powers X (X as in tenth), and my older sibling is a girl, so if I was born a girl my dad would probably still name me John J. just to continue the tradition...

but my mom said if I was born a girl they were gonna name me Bethany Hope. The Hope part sounds cool, I think that'd be a really pretty name for a girl.

If I had been born a boy, I would be called Micheal. And if I majicly got turned into a guy overnight, I call myself Jason, cause everyone I know called Jason are pretty cool.

Excellent idea. Michael is a great name.

That just happens to be my name. Oh, and if I was a girl, I'd name myself Trixie....why? Because you can bet a girl named Trixie has all the fun!

If I had been a boy, my parents were going to name me Robert. I'm glad I'm not though, cuz then my cousin and I would have both been Robert Churay. Grandma had a hard enough time remembering everyone's names with each of them being different; I'd hate to think of how confused she would have been with two of the same.

I'm also glad that they chose Elizabeth for my girl name instead of Roberta. Every Roberta I've known has been obnoxious as hell, I can't stand any of them.

I would be born on the "other side"
my name would be Hetwig.
I would have a botched sex change.
I would start a Glam Rock band and call it The Angry Inch. We would be Hetwig and the Angry Inch. And I would recall my days as a small boy in Eastern Germany.
I would compare gender to the Berlin wall.
God, that movie was awsome!

Well I wasnt even supposed to be born so my parents came up with a name for me when I popped out. I have a twin sister and my mother didnt know she was having twins so--there is that story. They would have named my sister Christopher-hence me named Christine.

Everyone (but me of course) has a family name. My brother is the second of his name (Robert-named after my father of course) my cousin is the third of his name (Ralph- named after my uncle and my Grandfather) my other cousin is the second of her name (Rosemary- named after my Grandmother)My sister is the second of her name (Natalie-named after my great Grandmother but my grandmother and mother have it as their middle names) so I am the strange one. Typical.

Anyway I assume they would have named my sister Christopher if she had a been a boy but I have no idea what they would have called me if we were both boys. If I had to pick a name of the opposite sex for some reason...hypothetically speaking it would be-- Terry- short of Terrence..

Well of course she did. However it was 1978 so the technology wasn't all that great. I believe one of us was hiding behind the other and the heartbeats were in sync. My poor parents got such a shock when they realized it. Not that they were in anyway unhappy- just shocked. These days that would never happen because the Technology is much much better. But in the 70s they were still working out some of the kinks in it so---shit like that happened.

I never posted to this, so I thought I might as well.

My parents told me that they had originally planned on calling me April if I was a girl. The weird thing is, I was born in April! Kinda weird. But I think April for a girl's name is nice. Almost makes me wish I was born a girl... almost.

Hm if I were a guy ... I agree ... either Jason or Michael. For my name, the spanish side of my family was rooting for Michaela/Mikayla or Elena ... but I like the name Sierra ... bleh I'll just legally change my name to my porn name ... Joie Arroyo ... oh baby!
Posted by MattimeoZ80 on Aug. 02 2001,14:27

Wasn't Arroyo the name of a town in fallout 2?

As for the chick name thing... probably Jade.
Taranis as my middle name. Jade Taranis. Or Taranis Jade.
Needless to say you would be mocked for an unusual name... but I love it.

I believe Taranis is the goddess of lightning and thunder? something like that.

As for my current name, Luke, I'm happy with it. It's a name I can call myself and see myself as. I hear a lot of people say they don't like their names, but I like mine.

God damn that all sounded sad.
I'll end here.

P.S. "This is rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine."
That's how i feel about my name

Edit: Spelling and the bold.

Ack.

I think I was going to Sarah Jane had I been a girl.

As for getting made fun of for an unusual name, I would rather have an unusual name that a common one. I grew up w/too many Brians and Jasons. I would want to have something cool and unique like Isis Rae.
