Forum: Sex Topic: I have had this question for a long time started by: Kolben Posted by Kolben on Feb. 14 2001,15:27
Well, I just thought that I'd ask you people, since I have NEVER had the guts to ask women about it. They might laugh at me and call me names. And when a woman knows something, EVERY woman nearby knows it too. They're BORG!!! ![]() When a girl gets wet they obviously releases some kind of fluid. But what is it and where does it come from? It's not like urin. It's...odd...it doesn't taste like urin anyways. (Not that I do that kind of stuff, but you need to try everything once, right? Wasn't so bad actually). I think I missed the class where we were tought about grease in the machinery. Posted by askheaves on Feb. 14 2001,16:08
It's a secretion that comes from glands in and around the vagina. The fluid is a type of mucus, because it has the right properties, and the body is good at making it. Not a whole lot to it. I certainly never attended a class on it. I guess the secret is to get up real close to it and have a gander for yourself. Try not to get slapped along the way ![]() Posted by Dark Knight Bob on Feb. 14 2001,20:36
although there is a difference in types the usual creamy consistancy from your average turned on women and the watery kind that shoots out up to about 12 inchs out when you give em a g-spot ejacuatory orgasm althought the later requires a lot of setup and trust in partners to do the first time. i'll have to find the book on it somewhere. (well if i cant get it i may as well research it so i can keep it when i do get it ![]() Posted by kuru on Feb. 14 2001,21:01
it's basically a larger quantity of the same mucus-type fluid that is constantly in the vagina. there are glands in the vulva (cool name for the female genitals) that produce it.it varies from having no taste to being slightly tangy when everthing's clean and healthy, and can be anywhere from clear to white-ish and has varying degrees of thickness. it's acidic (pH is about 5), compare that to semen which has pH 7. the pH prevents the growth of too much yeast/bacteria which as we all know leads to that tuna-factory smell. another thing that a lot of guys don't know is that not using a condom with their woman can actually *contribute* to the change in smell, because it changes the pH of things in there. all in all, as long as it's clear or white and doesn't smell *bad* things are pretty ok. if it stinks, or if it's some other color (aside from that lovely shade of red once a month) start worrying. ------------------ Posted by kai on Feb. 14 2001,22:10

i thought semen was acidic and vaginal secretions where alkaline

semen is basic. tested it myself(I was curious about science in high school... yeah) Posted by Dark Knight Bob on Feb. 14 2001,22:42

Thanks! You guys just made my day. ![]() Hmmm...yeast? That's a type of fungus, right? Are you sure that's what you are growing down there? And if you add sugar, then if you went long enough without washing, you'd start brewing alcohol. *HUMS* Come sit on my destillery Posted by kuru on Feb. 15 2001,17:56
semen and water are both neutral pH.semen does however contain high amounts of sugar, which also promotes bacterial and yeast growth. yum. ------------------ Posted by Xenoflargactian on Feb. 17 2001,09:33
i was taught in bio that a vagina is acidic and that semen is alkaline. the reason the semen is alkaline is because the sperm cant live in a pH below some number (prolly 6 or 7) and the alkalinity of the semen counteracts the acidity of the vaginal fluids to make a fairly neutral environment for the sperm to get to the ovum.

I know I looked it up. A yeast cell actually has the characteristics of a fungus. But being a Dane, I know yeast is what you use to brew beer ![]() This message has been edited by Kolben on February 19, 2001 at 04:08 PM Posted by masher on Feb. 20 2001,08:49
quote: Technically, water is only pH 7 when its ultra-pure and deionised. Normal water is slightly acidic because carbon dioxide from the atmosphere dissolves into it and produces carbonic acid. ------------------ Posted by kuru on Feb. 21 2001,05:40
water - with no additives, which would be, well, water - has a pH of 7.that was what i was talking about. the water itself. not all the shit that's in it. pond water has oxygen, carbon dioxide and a bunch of other shit in it, much like ocean water, well water, and drinking water. but if you go into a lab and find the pure, distilled, deionized stuff.... pH = 7. also, yeast is used for making both bread, and beer. ------------------ Posted by Dark Knight Bob on Feb. 21 2001,21:51
