Since about 1:30 A.M. MST on 1/17/01 our ebay account has been taken over by Hackers several times. We had to close our account (until 1/26/01) because of this for buying or selling both. We are currently working with ebay safeharbor/powerseller teams to resolve this issue. I am not at liberty to discuss much more than this at this time. Our Paypal.com account was also taken over by the same people. We discovered that the hacker/hackers had transferred funds from our bank account to our paypal account. Then they changed our password & finally changed our e-mail address to theirs, to gain access in order to remove our funds. We also have chosen to close the Paypal account "permanently" as well as close our bank account and open a new bank account.
On 1/8/01 & 1/19/01 early hours the Hacker/Hackers who took over our account, bid on one of your auctions or more under our name or you would not be receiving this e-mail. I am writing you all this form letter e-mail so you may resolve to the fact that we were not the ones buying your auctions. Our feedback (sale-time) is almost perfect & hits over 99\% positive at 930 positive feedback to our credit. It is obvious if you would consider this and then look at the amount of items purchased (跇,893.15) by sales-time that we are not the bidders who did this.
If you have any doubts that we are not telling the whole truth about the matter then you may write to safeharbor@ebay.com and ask about this scenario with ebay user sales-time. Safeharbor will also verify this serious problem of the hackers. After all I would not go to the trouble of explaining this matter if I were guilty. I would just hide my face.
As far as restitution for your fees charged by ebay please contact ebay. I have been told by ebay that you will receive full credit for these auctions.
I am very disturbed & sorry about all of this that has transpired. I apologize to you that anyone would have to go through an auction sale and then have to put it back up for auction.
