Tell me about it. I've been gone for over 2 weeks.Anarchy-Online is my new release from this place. ------------------ Posted by Rhydant on Jul. 15 2001,13:07
do you have to pay a monthly fee for Anarchy Online? like evercrack?yeah, the forums have gone to hell *sigh* ------------------ Posted by CatKnight on Jul. 15 2001,13:08
atleast that pickle therapy lady is quite attractive.hmm i'll dig up some dirt to start some interesting convo...bbl Posted by jim on Jul. 15 2001,13:14
Yes. And it's more expensive from what I've heard.AO = ผ per month... Or you can pre-pay in 3 or 6 month intervals to save a few bucks. I feel the cost is fell justified though, considering what you are buying.... The graphics are un-believable, the story is very envoloping and ever-changing, storyline is controlled by players for the most part with Game Master twists thrown in from time to time. You join in game factions to totally change game play. For instance, Join the Omni-Pol Police Force, get issued kick ass armor and equipment, and earn a salary. Join Omni-Med. Become a Beurocrat. It's fun, I like it.... ------------------ Posted by DuSTman on Jul. 15 2001,13:18
Well, I have to concur, I've noticed a marked increase in the average thread inanity in the past few days.

quote: Are the servers stable now? I betatested it but it got repetative like EQ, you go out into the newbie zones and level up then go do your thing. Can you drive vehicles yet? ------------------ Posted by jim on Jul. 15 2001,16:59
They have made leaps and bounds on Graphics, gameplay, and stability. When I first bought it, I couldn't keep the client running for more than 2 minutes at a time. And that was after 20 minutes of trying to log in. Finally they got that fixed. Then they started having huge lag, zoning, and playshifting problems. Those are pretty much sealed tight as well. Right now the gameplay is about Leveling up. The story starts in September. Since the story doesn't include the colonization of Rubi-Ka there needs to be high level people already before they can open up the Arena Combat League, and stuff like that. The cool thing was that during the time there servers were fucked up, they weren't starting the Free Month that comes with the game. Now that they've got everything running right (with still some small bugs to squash) they have start charging time. They are also giving players that signed up during the shit period, a special in game surprise... Haven't got it yet. Hopefully it'll be a car! Speaking of cars, no I don't have one yet. But I have seen a few... Saw a flying car just yesterday that buzzed right over my head. Scared the shit out of me! ------------------ Posted by SLATE on Jul. 15 2001,18:35
Jim, can you tell me about this game? Like whats the point, how do you level, waht do you fight, etc?

I was reading the SA forums last night out of shear boredom and came across a thread about biggest game letdowns. Anarchy-Online is in the top three.I think it was Black & White, Chrono Cross and then Anarchy-Online. There were a lot of other games, but those were the three that I noticed. Keep in mind that when the game came out it was completely unplayable. Now that the majority of the bugs have been worked out, and it's not a "paid beta" it completely and totally 0wnz! Read the review I posted above, it'll give you an idea of the cool shit in the game, along with some of the story line and genious inovations that came out in this game. ------------------ Posted by The_Stomper on Jul. 16 2001,05:44
Holy shit. A game that charges money to play and is actually worth it? Is the world ending?I'd better check out the Anarchy Online website ... sounds like I might wanna get in on some of this shit. ------------------ Posted by jim on Jul. 16 2001,05:49
Read < this > review of the game first. It tells you the good along with the bad. Also keep in mind the game has got much better even since this review....I think the game is well worth the cash. I paid for 3 months in advance and next time I'll probably pay for 6. My wife is also addicted to this game as well. Very big surprise. All and all, I've conviced 15 local friends to buy this game, and none of them hate me for it! Just hope you have the time to play. I've been taking 3 hour lunches to play the game! The gameplay is awesome, but the graphics are what really got me. All the lighting is real time with some very impressive lens flare effects from the suns rising...
You can buy all types of non combat clothing and host rave parties. Characters have 80 emote commands from Flipping you the bird, puking, pulp fiction dance, ballet, ass scratching, nut shifting, blowing kisses, mooning players, pointing, etc.... Then there are always the chicks in bikinis!!!

Excellent. I'll probably get around to it like I did with Diablo II (once the bugs get worked out to a sufficient level) esp. since I have to pay to play Anarchy Online.Looks very nice though. Is it done with FPS-style controls and an RPG gameplay (like Deus Ex, but more so) or something wack? And it's only a matter of time before the nudie skins come out for Anarchy Online. /me wonders if you can create your own texture maps and truly put yourself into the game... It's more 3rd person Diablo like, except it's 3d with full control of the camera. You can also switch to first person mode, which I often do in dungeons, and play it CS style.I'd wait till around September. I KNOW all the bugs will be squashed by then, and that's when the storyline really begins anyway. No offense to anyone, but I love this game just for the shear fact that few children play it. It costs money monthly, so you aren't pestered with 12 year dip shits acting like an ass all the time. 99\% of the people I've talked with are very mature and polite. Makes the game that much more fun. ------------------ Posted by Rhydant on Jul. 16 2001,20:46
