my windows xp cd didn't work! i didn't find out till after it formatted and started the final installation stuff. the file COMMAND.MAN in a long branch of the i386 folder is apparantly corrupted. can someone send me this file ASAP < via email? > i'm stuck in the crappy computer lab until then (or until tomorrow if i have to get a win2000 cd from the main lab).

the file is in d:\i386\asms\6000\msft\windows\common\controls

i don't really know how i'm going to fix the cd since i dont have the image anymore. i guess i can just copy all the files to a new cd and replace that one file and re-write it to a new cd and hope it works.

well all i can sudgest on this one is never burn those images to a cd
from what i have heard, if you use nero you have to put cd at once or something like that. i always use IsoBuster to extract the iso image to the hard drive and then burn it.
That is the best way to go and if file are corrupt you can always replace them.
As for the file i'll see if i can find it and will send it to you. No need to burn it to a new cd though, just copy what you see to hard drive, boot to whatever OS you are using now and start the installation. It installs from harddrive very well.
If you want and have an ability to set up an ftp server or something like that (some file sharing program) i can send you the latest iso that i have.
