I've got a fly enjoying himself buzzing around me and my room. Does anyone know of any easy way to get rid of a fly that does not involve killing it and perferrably not having to get up?

note: sry probably shouldn't of started a thread I'm just a little newb

at least this isn't your first post.

as for the fly. if you have anything, like aerosal, to spray at it. then uh do that. otherwise, just throw things.

tell you dad to zip up and get out of your room. That should do the trick.

You know what's fun? You take a can of that air-duster stuff and turn it upside down and spray it at flying insects while in mid air. Most of the time they'll freeze, and I did it to a rather large beetle one time and he smashed when he hit the ground. Heh.

haha i tried that...didn't work to well. just made a mess of my room. i also tried to zap it with my laser pointer to no avail. however my cat seems to be deathly afraid of that little red dot. if i point it near him and wiggle it around he will run away terrified!

My cats seem to be very good exterminators. But instead of killing the bugs (usually spiders, flies, ants) they sit there and toy with them until they can't fight back and then eat them.

Needless to say, when the summer comes w/ the bugs, the food bills go down.

haha
your cat is a pussy (no pun intended) My cat likes to chase the laser pointer..

That freezing idea sounds cool though.. I gotta get one of those cans today....

Hairspray and a Cigarite lighter, if you do it right it shouldn't kill it.

Do you have a dog? Call it. Show the fly to the dog. Have fun watching the dog trying to catch, chew and swallow the fly. The face of the dog is astounding while doing that activity...

Any insect cryology experts in the house???

I'm serious... I wanna do it.. and I wanna film it for all to see.
I need some assistance on the cryogenics shit though....
The fly just didnt live.. Does it need an instant freeze? or gradual? Does it have to be a certain type of fly?

Moths? I feel for you man.. I get the occaisonal moth as well and they scare the shit out of me, especially when I'm in the middle of a game of quake and one flys by my monitor. Everyone in the game laughs at my dance and thinks I was trying to hump the wall/floor or something.

check out < http://www.flypower.com. >

it's all about freezing flies and gluing them onto paper planes so that when they awake they realize they have been conscripted to a life of slavery, powering your miniature aircraft for as long as you can keep them alive.

Yah, cr0 did a news bit on that a while back. He said he'd give a private section to anyone who can get him video footage of this. I'd do it... but we don't really have any flys were I live. ... (or is it ?)
