Today was the first real day of school. I had double music, French, politics, double free, double German. Somehow, during my free classes the computer class takes place. I asked the teacher (who used to be my physics teacher and likes me a lot) whether I could pop in occasionally to learn about comps a bit more. He said "well, better just take the class as a such, so you can get a grade in it, too". I said "but I am a lam0r". He grinned and said "oh, that doesn't matter, we are doing hardware this semester which is totally new for everyone." In short, I just followed him to the class, and that was it.

So now, I am in the 1337 comp class. I still can't believe it. It means not only having the privilege to use the comp room during breaks, but also learning about comps, and getting to know the people who can help me with my comp problems! And it is a really small class. 3 girls, 6 guys. We are gonna have lots of fun... next week, we're gonna have some cake while learning. (Guess who does the baking...)

hardware is easy. just ground yourself before touching anything. taht means touching the case to release all the static electricity you pick up from walking around. but theyll prolly give you leash things....

This is true. Many CPU engineers and component card designers got where they are today with the same advice.

get ur self a recent motherboard manual. (off one of ur mates if u dont have one) pretty much 75\% of everything you will need to know about hardware is in there
