Have you ever broken a bone/s? Or kinda broken a bone? What about cool scars? I gots one on my forhead from when I was 2 = I walked into a coffee table! But I've never had a broken bone. Posted by Sithiee on Aug. 31 2000,12:16
i have never broken a bone or sprained anything, which i spose is bad, cause its along the same lines as "how much can you know about yourself if youve never been in a fight?" but i have one cool scar, it came from a game of baseball i was playing (a casual game, no uniforms, not even full teams) where id hit a triple, and the guy who had the ball was talking to the pitcher, and he was facting him, but standing a little off the 3rd/home base line. so i thought he wasnt paying attention (thats how i made it to third) so i tried to run, but as soon as i got like 10 feet, he turned around and chased me, so i tried to go around him. i figured that wasnt going to work after i was about halfway down the line, so i turned around. by this time i was like a bit up this huge hill, running back down at an angle towards 3rd, trying to avoid the dude with the ball. anyway, he managed to get between me and the base, so i sort of lunged at the base, and i managed to make it without being tagged, but i got this huge ass scrape on my arm, and now its a neato scar. heh, i also somehow managed to completely flatten the other dude on my way to the base....well thats my story.

no broken bones for me. one time when I was maybe...4...I was on the porch and I tried to slide down the railing...I fell off the side and fell 7 or 8 feet and landed on my head on the cement. I'm really suprised I didn't dent anything...well maybe I did, I don't remember. but for some reason the firemen came to my house after that. is there anything they DON'T do?

yeah, they dont make your toast.ive broken both of my picky fingers. once in a river where i was panning for gold (school field trip). i squateded down and my friend pushed me over. i went about 300 feet down a big ass river before i could swim to the side and grab a tree. almost died! the other time was when i was in a fighter. i swung for the kid's stomach (i ducked under his punch) and i hit the batards belt buckle. but at least i won the fight. ive got tons of cool scars. i just got one actually. i went deep see fishing and i feel off the boat, but my hand snagged a line and the other guy though he was caught something. so now my hand really hurts. ------------------ Posted by kuru on Aug. 31 2000,16:53
i've never broken a bone. unfortunately, some chick had the misfortune of breaking one of mine for me.she's still out there somewhere.... believing i'm going to come get her when she stops looking over her shoulder. anyway, my ankle healed a bit crooked, but i don't limp or anything.... so i guess i can let her off the hook now. ------------------ Posted by kai on Aug. 31 2000,21:18
i hit a bed frame once and now i have a dent in my forehead. it's not visible but you can really feel it. another time my sister was spinning me around in a chair and i flew out and landed in a pile of junk. now i have scar on my upper lip just below my nose. also this one isn't very visible but you can see it in like the right light, such as when someone is standing and i'm inbetween them and the sun. Once i broke my toe in Tae Kwon Do kicking some fat fuck and this one is VERY visible. my toe is all fucked up, it turns WAY in the wrong direction. pretty sure thats all of em

Never broken a bone, I have two nice shiny scars on my elbows from getting scraped in a bike accident, and a 1/2 inch long scar on my forehead from when I was 3: someone dropped a refrigerator drawer full of mud on my head, and I got a nice gouge. The scar sorta blends with one of the lines on my forehead.------------------ Posted by marc c on Aug. 31 2000,23:51
I'm pretty sure I've broken a toe or two in the past. But fortunatly I've managed to stay out of the emergency room, for the most part.------------------ Posted by j0eSmith on Aug. 31 2000,23:52
I have a collection if scars...One on my left shoulder, left elbow, left hip and left knee all from the same crash on my dirtbike, hit a damn dog that came out of nowhere, tire turned sideways and I went over the bars, didn't have any gear on either. Also have one running from my left kidney to my solar phlexus from when I was like 10. Was riding my (pedal) bike and wipedout in a ditch with the handle bar stuck in my kidney(on the front of my body)which wasn't bad, execpt the fucking idiot behind me kept going right into the other end of my handlebars, giving me a nice rainbow shaped scar. There are others, but no memorable stories behind them. Never broken a bone, which is really surprising, seen as how I've bounced off rocks, trees, etc. ------------------ Posted by kuru on Sep. 01 2000,00:54

I gotta say I'll do that too. If i haven't been here in a while I'll look through all the topics and usually a lot of them are interesting ![]() on the broken bone tiff: ------------------ Posted by kuru on Sep. 05 2000,05:19
my list of scars and sprains is so huge.. i wasn't really accident prone, i just played hard as a kid. got hurt like, every day, but it was fun. i feel sorry for kids today who are padded, insulated, protected.. half the fun of everything was comparing the bloody gashes and black/blue marks when we were done. other than the one broken ankle, it was all in good fun. and even that was kind of fun... ------------------ Posted by DuSTman on Sep. 05 2000,09:54
Well, nothing broken as such.Sprained my anke once (walking over a bridge, didn't spot a downward step, came down on the side of my foot.. ow.) My cranium is propably a bit chipped (one time i came off a rotating chair at speed (i was about 5, my sister and i took turns spinning each other on this rotating chair. It was fun) and smacked my head into the metal corner of a table.) That probably hurt, but i do not remember said accident. Posted by eng_man on Sep. 05 2000,23:28
Seesh ... I can't believe more of you haven't broken any bones ...I myself have broke both bones in my left arm riding my bike down a huge bumby hill. Imagine your wrist, then a second wrist about 3 inches from it, that's what my arm looked like. Hurt like a mofo. The other was my left collarbone playing football. That one strangly didn't hurt at all. Just walked in to the nurse at school and told her I broke my collarbone, she didn't even believe me at first =| If you can't see the broken bone it doesn't hurt at all. Least that's my theory =) ------------------ Posted by whiskey@throttle on Sep. 07 2000,05:29
Scars are cosmetic. Sure, we all got them. They're even a bit cool. Now broken bones, on the other hand... I broke my right wrist 3 times (insert masturbation joke here). Once playing football in 3rd grade, once riding my bike down a flight of stairs, and the other time...I can't remember. But the peice d'resistance is breaking the femur. I had to wear a half-body cast that went all the way down my right leg and up around my hips. They cut out a little square in the back so I could still take a crap, sans soiling myself. No bueno. the two most serious incidents threatening my life passed by without a single physical scar... the day that some drug dealer tried to drown me because i looked at him wrong, and the time i mentioned in the cell phone thread. i've been lucky i guess, that my collection of scars have all been superficial wounds. ------------------ Posted by nautilus on Sep. 12 2000,05:03
quote: Actually, what is more likely the case is that with injuries that should be intensely painful, your body's self-defense mechanisms block those nerve impulses and keeps them from reaching your brain. Otherwise, you would pass out and go into shock. (Sorry, sometimes the nursing student in me comes out and there's no holding it back.) Miraculously I've never broken any bones. I drank lots of milk as a kid, and have a fairly large bone structure for a female, so all of that was to my advantage. I've sprained both wrists and ankles numerous times (played softball for like 8 or 9 years, and did a lot of camping) and when I was 12 I hyperextended my right knee (bent it the wrong way). That led to 6 weeks in a full leg cast in the middle of a Louisiana summer. If the heat wasn't bad enough, there was only one bathroom in my house I could pee in, b/c the cast came up so high on my leg I had to prop my leg on the side of the bathtub in order to be able to sit on the toilet. That gave my ligaments and tendons time to repair themselves, then not quite 2 years later I had to have arthroscopic surgery so they could check the condition of my cartilage damage. They determined my cartilage is totally shot, and so I had to end my softball career.
