On a side note, our network was recently hacked, just thought I'd throw that in.
Wow! is that true eng? Thats impressive at 19! Well one my friends (I have to brag about my friends because I haven't acomplished anything worthwhile) at 19 got a job managing the computer systems at the surgeon generals office. And Kayy I can totally relate. I sit around coding scripts, for web design for hours and then "Parse Error in Base_html_code.inc on line 371" and I'm all like FUCKING SHIT BITCH ARGG. Then I go to that line. hmm maybe, no that's not it, you what...nope that's not it either...OHHH I missed a ; 20 lines above this one. So lets test this one out...Holey SHIT what's this page! It's not supposed to look this way!!! Ahh screw it I'll get back to it later.

hey, my cryotarget detection programs always break down. whats up with that? i havent been able to smash any atoms for weaks. any ideas eng_man?oh yea i go to Academy of art colledge in SF and my major is Sculpture/animation.
Posted by eng_man on Jun. 06 2000,23:56
Is what true? No, we don't make nukes. Yes, I work at a partical accelerator =) If you don't believe me look at their homepage, there is a staff search page. =PLordbrandon: Just to let you know, almost NOTHING breaks. We have test stands for whatever is going into the actual hall (there are 3 halls, hall == where the particles collide). Everthing gets simulated before it actually goes down in the hall. Being that even just warming up the magnets for testing but not even doing a run is a HUGE deal you better believe everything gets checked a million times. So cryotarget not working ... HA!
Oh yeah, I'm getting a new dually Xeon workstation (replacing my current dually, gotta love the gov't) ... tee hee

I sit on my ass all day in front of this machine trying to make something to stick online that will generate enough interest to get some money offers rolling in.I havent had any yet...
There is only one flaw with me and work, we dont go together, we never have. I will happily sit and play around with graphics and websites, but quickly get bored if things arent working like they should (which is a rarity in itself).
Dustman.. Lancaster, the North of England? I oughtta kick your ass for even thinking that.
Lancaster is in the midlands, always has been, always will be.
If you want North, then try perhaps Middlesborough (which I am 32miles down the coast from) or Newcastle (only about 80-100miles up the coast from me).

I got promoted this spring. I also do some work for hire for friends/aquaintences.------------------

Oook.. I just think of it as being quite northerly, just not as northerly as you can get.
I thought the area round birmingham was considered the midlands...
Hmmn. Thank god i'm better at computers than geography.

Anztac isn't the only one with a particle Accelerator to play with, my place also has a supersonic windtunnel, we tested the ion engine for DS1, the coolest thing though has to be our server which we can play UT on. 2nd only in the MetOffice.Cranfield University was highest single academic earner of research income from industry in the United Kingdom, earning half as much again as its nearest rival and almost exactly as much as Cambridge and Oxford universities combined and we don't even appear in any league tables.
Now thats being l33t.

I spend my 4 (or 5, usually 6) days a week in the IT department at Intel Corporation's Folsom campus.. I get to talk to all of the wonderful employees that have problems turning their laptops on and usually end up helping them become functional members of society. =)I also spend some of my time on the board of directors of a corporation that a friend of mine and I started up a few years ago (in HS). It's nice to have employees under me, and the ability to fire someone if they piss me off... and I don't even have to be in the office during the week!
And I'm the chief web designer for that company. We've got a 17 year old that writes all of the eCommerce code, and I do all of the HTML.
My life is pretty busy... but it's buying me a Mercedes (this weekend!)

I'm just studying and sometimes doing some java-programming for a danish energy control company. We get paid to study in Denmark, not much, but enough to get by.My (I think you call it) major is Computer Science, and my "minor?" is chemistry.
I've also got a lab-job, but there's nothing to all day, because the "real" chemists prefer to make their solutions/compounds themselves, so that they're are perfectly sure, what they are

I'm majoring in Computer Science Software & Computing in University (i'm one of the few girlz in the program). I also work at a computer store and have my own website design business on the side. It's fun, and I get to deal with a wide range of computer issues in hardware and software every day.------------------

I work the night shift at Applied Graphics Technology baby sitting web servers, atleast they've started giving me something to do at nights besides reading detnet and packing up tapes.
i'm not making the big bucks like some people in this forum, but i suppose haveing a full time job in an IT department with no formal education (one year of college, wasn't even a computer related major), is pretty good. Now to go get my CISCO certs.
