Yeah, had another disk space outage today. So, there have been threads and user information disappearing. If you've had your user account erased or messed up, e-mail me and I'll restore it.

cr0, how big is the hd and what keeps filling it? Logs?

Mr. Obvious: Perhaps you should invest (or have detnetters donate) some money into a larger one, if you're hosting from home... Or get more quota from the company.

SLATE: mr. obvious is so smart sometimes. he might sound like a dick, so therefore, on his behalf, i apoligize on his behalf.

boomgames is hosting it... if it's on the same drive as the buromisan logs, maybe you could delete some the older logs?

I'm not sure...I don't quite follow you.

You say that by adding more drives to the box I might theoretically increase my disk space?

Sounds kinda farfetched to me.

There will be no more disk problems. I've written software to automatically compress, transmit to a remote site, and remove log files once they surpass the "danger" threshold.

The only damaged data should be that which was being used during the disk overload.

naw, PersonGuy (and Mr. Snark), now that I've seen this thread I don't think you had anything to do with it=.

I should've known better than to think y'all would cave in to the rampant anti-hax0r witch hunt in this country (arresting kids for reading 2600 mag, etc.), but I thought maybe you did. Sorry for suspecting you.

/me hangs head in shame & begs for forgiveness...

edit : Thanks to PersonGuy's usage, DSL (or D_S_L) is now officially approved shorthand for my screen name. Heh... I'm broadband...

Heh, forgiven! Oh, and BTW, I was asked by El Numero Uno not to delete threads... so rule THAT out as a future possibility. I guess this goes back to me editing that pr0n pic...

EDIT: YOU MEAN "DSL" WASN'T ON PERPOSE!? And I thought you were CRAFTY... hrmf!

glad to hear that, PG. The BEST thing about detnet is that you can actually say what you think here without having to worry about the thought police (aka "guides," "The Terms of Service contract you agreed to when you registered," etc.).

as for my name - I was using it whenever someone needed my name / address / etc. without good reason - and if I thought I might get junk mail by giving it out. Think Radio Shack, the Safeway club card, registration cards... the address I gave out was

Damien S. Lucifer
666 Diablo Rd. #13
Pandemonium, HL 69666

You'd be surprised how many people fall for it!!! Only one out of maybe 4 people would ask what state "HL" was. I told them it was a special postal code.

It was only later when I realized the DSL / Damien S. Lucifer connection. It's pretty close to the mark, though... DSL is a tool of Satan

Wow, are people THAT ignorant? How can they not notice? I thought "Damien S. Lucifer" was obvious enough, but the state and zipcode REALLY give it away!

*sigh*

Stupid question I guess.

I got a question. What about da damn menus at the top. News, Humor, Editorial, Informational, Community. Everytime I goto click on the only time it highlights the selection if if i drag the cursor pointer over the very fine thin line between each selection.

That's what you get for using the IE 6 beta. . .or does 5.5 do it too? Bah, whatever.

Posted by Observer on Jul. 08 2001,19:11
Just in IE 6.

What works is moving the mouse cursor next to the menu item you want to select then clicking. The menus are usually wide enough with enough empty space to accomodate this method.
