Forum: The Classroom Topic: Breaking Stuff... GOOD! started by: ganvar Posted by ganvar on Nov. 27 2000,21:35
I was just wondering if anyone wanted to bring the "break stuff" section back. I have no idea what it was called, but I remember it being on here a while back. If anyone is interested, I could contribute to the "break stuff" cause. I usually break stuff anyway, and I got a digital camera, so I might as well post the pictures somewhere, hehe.

YAYA!! breakin stuff. my friend and I always 'sacrafice' things to the computer gods. usually in a drunken rage. but it's always like a failed cd-rom or something. and we pick up our stuff afterwards. last time i attempted to fix it with duct tape. it was hilarious.------------------ Posted by DuSTman on Nov. 28 2000,06:07
How many fireworks would i have to strap to an epson stylus color 500 to lift it clean off the ground, and then eplode the f'ing thing? Posted by Blain on Nov. 28 2000,16:11
Probably a butt-load. If you ever decide you want to find out make sure you have a video camera ready

If ya like bustin computer shit and stuff gettin blown up with lots of guns and explosives and interesting ways to destroy things, check out< www.shybe.com > Posted by Der_Teufel on Nov. 28 2000,20:34
I remember in the early ages of this site. cr0 had some pics and little gifs of the Aliens action figures fighting against some other action figures, can't remember what they were. Anyway that stuff was kinda funny.

Hey I remember those... wasn't it Star Wars action figures?------------------ Posted by Rhydant on Nov. 28 2000,20:44
heheh, just this weekend i blew up my old monitor. i put it on my roof and st up 20 bottle rockets next to it. i lit all the rockets, and they blew the monitor off the roof, to an area loaded with explosives. very fun. should of tooken pictures though..------------------ Posted by ganvar on Nov. 28 2000,23:02
I would have drilled a hole in the monitor, filled it with black powder and put a good 10 foot fuse in it. That reminds me about what one of my friends did with a furby, hehehehe.

quote: I have the same god damn stupid printer. I love that I got it from my father, but it is one of the worst printers ever. It ate in cartridges in less than 100 pages (color or B&W) until I stopped feeding it. My last 3 1/2 years of school I used the labs for all of my printing. If you have any good ideas for the death of this printer, let me know. I was thinking about leaving it duck taped to a chair in the desert for a week, but it's probably only effective on humans. Epson's no good, eh? I was going to buy one. I'll tell you, though - I hate my HP with a passion.Every HP I have ever come across has made it no farther than a year without becoming a heap of broken crap. Threw my last one in down the emptied flood channel, along with an 8086 I had in the garage. Posted by askheaves on Nov. 29 2000,03:31
quote: Let me qualify... The Epson Stylus 500 Color is a piece of crap printer. The 800 uses the same cartridges (methinkgs), so probalby has the same problems. You can extend to other Epson printers (which I do in my head), but do your research first. I've never had a problem with HP printers. Especially office LaserJet printers... mmmm... laser. I'd probably pick up the cheapest HP Laser for home sometime in the near future. Posted by ganvar on Nov. 29 2000,21:45
I have some stuff I would like to destroy, but I don't have any thermite . I don't feel like making my own either. Maybe the thermite fairy will visit me, hehe.
Posted by askheaves on Nov. 29 2000,22:01
Who needs thermite? (what the hell is thermite?) I have plenty of projectiles around.Speaking of which, what would happen if you wanted to destroy to things by making one a projectile? Like launching a VoodooGraphics chip at an Epson Stylus 500 Color printer near lightspeed... I have all the parts necessary, I live in the desert, just don't have a camera. I think this adds a new dimensionality to destroying stuff: the "what would win in a highspeed collision between..." factor. Yippee!!! Posted by Sithiee on Nov. 29 2000,22:18
thats what particle accelerators are for. speed stuff up and smash it together. i still havent entirely realized the point of it...except rich scientists also like smashing things...
Posted by j0eSmith on Nov. 29 2000,22:32
By crashing atoms together you get different reactions.. That's how nuclear fission works.------------------ Posted by kai on Nov. 29 2000,23:10
and then they can study stuff that makes up protons and neutrons and stuff. like quarks and quirks and what not. (I think)------------------ Posted by Lordbrandon on Nov. 30 2000,05:22
i have a epson 740 wich works on the whole, but has fits that i can only discribe as nervious breakdowns or epilptic seizeures. i have to unplug it before it hurts its self. if it had a toung i supose id have to put a spoon on it so it did'nt swallow it. but what do you want for 150 bucks. high end epson stuff kicks its too bad the low end stuff is so flaky. kind of like sony in that respect

No, it will.BTW, I agree: HP lasers rock. To bad the inkjets suck balls. Posted by PersonGuy on Nov. 30 2000,16:09

quote: Slightly off topic, but: NEVER place ANYTHING in the mouth of someone who is having a seizure. It is impossible for them to swallow their tongue. Sticking anything in their mouth could cause them to choke, and even if not, you still run the risk of getting bitten while trying to put it in. If someone has a seizure, just assist him/her to the floor and if possible, move furniture away to prevent him/her from hitting it. And of course, call 911 as soon as possible. Again, sorry for being off topic, but this is important to know. Posted by PersonGuy on Nov. 30 2000,23:28
"Fuzzy and small" - hehehe... Fuzzy = motion Small = sorry, but I put in the arrows for your convinience. Anyway, yah, that's me. I was younger there... ummm 13 years old. I usued to have really long hair too. ------------------ Posted by Sithiee on Nov. 30 2000,23:46

I would have probably soaked the house thingy in gasoline and then tossed a match on it. On a personal note, don't light flashpaper on a windy day.

Woohoo, my scanner is broken now. The motor is messed up on it. It gets about half way through a scan, and then it starts having "spasms". Anyone know how much a new scanner motor costs? This is just a cheap ์ paperport scanner anyways, so I don't really want to invest that much in it. If a motor costs to much, it's going to meet my "Magical Sledgehammer of Delicate Electronic Repair."

Actually, it is quite possible to swallow your tounge, and my people do while having siezures. What happens is they uncontrolablly bite down, sometimes on their tounge, and often hard enough to sevre it. After that they just swallow, and wah-lah, no more tounge. -Tony ------------------ |
