Its buffer based, so no matter what you always get your say, has a text area for when you cant talk or whatever, has a few addons (Iparty Extender, IPE-TV) that add ignore functions and so on, the only drawback is that you can only kick or ban people from the room if the person hosting the server is there, and has a decent firewall.

It may take a bit more setting up than most audio chat programs, but its still by far the best.

One thing that could be a downside, not available at all for Linux/Unix, windows 9x/NT only I'm afraid.

If you know how to setup HearMe, you can limit talk time.

And I've never used IRC... Seems pretty lame to me.

i never really got into IRC, it was the first thing i found on the internet before the web was big, and unfortunately it kinda turned me off of the internet even though i was big into BBS's. it's always been pretty lame to me. internet was too expensive then too!

Right above the your username line is the javascript applet... if it doesnt load, make sure you got java on.. and a certificate pops up asking for FULL access.. grant it.. dont worry, its not me.. its NBC or some shit
