only 100mph?
example:
compare Floyd(left) to Andrew(right)

and you think that experiencing Floyd was any better?

*edit* Floyd was Category 4/Category 5

yes but 100 mph winds are different from a funnel. The shearing effect in a 100 mph f1 is equal to 485 lbs/in^2. Think what 485 lbs/in^2 would do to trees/houses/mailboxes/cars/anything bolted/not bolted down.

did you see any strange flying debris? or where you in a basement/shelter/bathroom?

i think natural disasters suck ass. so the only safe place to live is in colorado or something. a place where you dont get earthquakes/hurricanes.

i remember the big-ass earthquake that hit LA a couple of years back. i was lying in bed when all of a sudden it started to shake. then a picture fell from a wall and i heard a bunch of car alarms and dogs barking. scary shit.

Catagories for hurricanes aren't the same as the F scale for tornadoes. Andrew was a Catagory Four officially. The problem with measuring strong storm winds, is they tend to break the instruments used to take the reading. I've read articles that report wind gusts over 200 miles per hour in Andrew. 'Size' doesn't always matter w/ huge storms, as obvious by Andrews small size compared to Floyd, yet still causing much more damage (Floyd an estimated 6 billion, Andrew an Estimated 25 billion).

I was in the basement... no windows... but my patio set was found about a mile away in pieces... it was sorta funny....dad had put our names on it.. for some reason ... guess when he bought it.. some guy came over with a leg from one of the chairs was like
"over there in pieces near the school is the rest."

Well, you could come to Quebec, no earthwakes to speak of, one or two teeny twisters per year (and only in the northern part), no hurricanes, some snowstorms in the winter.

The last two big natural desasters whe had are a rainstorm in the Saguenay area 3 years ago, where some old dams broke causing a big flood. And the one after that (3 years ago) is a 10-day ice storm that caused almost every power line to collapse in the southwest (I was in one of the worst areas that they called the black triangle), some people had no power for almost one month.
