In my opinion I think that McDonalds' burgers are the only thing you should buy... Nothing else. It's mostly nasty.
Posted by Nachoman on Jun. 29 2000,10:04
I worked at a McDonalds for a little under a year. The only safe bets are probably the McNuggets, apple pies (these are great!) and maybe the fries, it depends on how long they've been sitting there (and let me tell you they often do sit despite the 10 min rule). Buy anything else and your playing with fire...I've seen some ugly stuff done.

You can get fajitas at McDonalds?
Posted by pi42 on Jun. 29 2000,14:24
It may be crap, but it's a staple in american society! How can you ignore that?
Posted by k00gs on Jun. 29 2000,17:23
Yes.. I love McDonald's food. Fries rock, (yea that's nice) but I found a coffee lid in my fajita!! WTF!! And the guy making my burgers wasn't wearing gloves! I had a hard time even unwrapping the burger I saw the guy make (i ordered 2 + the fajita w/ the "prize") .. so I ate the other one, knowing that someone's hands may have made the burger, but at least I didn't see it .. Ohh yeah - they make fajitas by taking this big pot of goop and slapping it into the little tortilla .. rat drop soup anyone? any other nasties folks have encountered? =(

I must say the last time i have eaten at a mc donalds has been years ago. I stopped eating at most fast food places because of how easy it is for employes to disregard health codes. Think about it you get inspected every once and a while and half the time you can bribe the instpector or you get a warning to clean up then you get reinspected then a week later its bare hands and coffee lids again..

Do you really trust a stoned, unerpaid, humiliated worked to make a healthy burger? Or better yet, do you really think McDonalds uses meat in their burgers?

Somebody needs to do another stinky meat project with common fast food items and compare the results to the images at < http://meat.ontap.com/ >

The only thing I eat in maccas are the chicken nuggets and fries in the normal menu. Breakfast menu, it has to be the hash brown and the pancakes. Mmmm... hash brown...

FIRED!
Cannot have thieving drive thru attendants can we?

The last time I ate at McDonalds was when I was in Australia. And we used to go once a month or so because it was pretty close to Uni. Plus it was mainly for the fries and shakes anyway- nothing made by human hands really. I don't go around here cause I'm not a big fan of fast food as it is. But I think their egg macs are pretty l33t.

Burger King makes better burgers.
Their fries suck ass, but their burgers rock.
Double whopper!! Mmmmmmmmmm.
Flame broiled is just better.

Ok...

I eat fast food once in a while, but not all that often. I don't really have reason to, and I personally like real food better.

I know a few peoplwe that have worked at Mc Donalds and other various fast food places. Generally they say "don't piss off the wrokers". If you don't do that, chances are your food will be better off. Just act as you should. Don't be rude.

You have to also consider that everytime you eat there you are probably eating something that you normally wouldn't if you knew about it. It would sound sick and disgusting, but you eat it without knowing and it generally harms you not.

People in the past have eatin thing that any "normal" person now would feel sick thinking about, but they were fine when they are it. People in general cultures eat bugs and many other odd things that I doubt any of you would eat knowingly, but it doesn't genreally harm them.

I do have to say this though. Too much of anything is bad. And not much of fast food is bad. Eat some real food instead of their BS.

MD has the best fries, BK has the best burgers, and since I rarely get shakes, I don't know how to compare them.

fact #1 McD's nuggets used to be pressed chicken feet up untill a few years ago.

fact #2 McD's is the number one importer of kangaroo meat in the US.

fact #3 McD's knows 15\% rat meat in your burger is legal

fact #4 if you get a quarter pound meal at McD's, and add some digestive juices, your meal is 48\% fat.

these and many other facts are why i do my best to avoid eating at McDonalds...but if you dont think about it, its a good meal. and knowing someone who works there is the bomb, cause they give you free anything. i once bought a drink in the drive through, and an entire meal came with it.if they pay didnt suck, id still have a friend working there.

I didn't want to know that, especially since I just ate there .

If you thought McD's had some fatty burgers the ones at Burger King are even worse. My dad used to work at a restaurant so he knew a lot of food distriubtors, one of which supplied both McD's and BK. Since the burgers at BK are cooked over flame they have more fat so they won't stick to the track that drags them through. I think it's about 10-20\% more than McD's.

Once the burgers got switched. The McD's burgers ended up at BK. Suffice to say, since they had less fat they stuck to the grate and proceded to go through the flame broiler a few extra times. Now those were some well done burgers =)

Posted by RenegadeSnark on Jul. 01 2000,10:29
McD's eh?

I refuse to eat a MC-D burger. Had one once. Er, had about a bite, then the trash bin had the rest of it.

I do like the chicken nuggets and fries tho. And their milk shakes don't suck too bad.

yea...but wonder what they put in those chicken nuggets, eh.
*can imagine little children being ground down, and mixed with tofu, and chicken extract*

Did you know that they aren't milk shakes? They're actually made with potatoes. That's why they call them just "shakes."

ROTFLMAO. potatoe shakes.
Posted by jptech on Jul. 01 2000,18:48
My roommate used to work at a Taco Bell (yeah, not a burger joint but still fast food). He said that the "meat" is usually some tofu-derivate with seasoning.

I haven't eaten meat from a fast food restaurant in a long time. I consider fries and sodas to be the only safe "food" you can get from them.

Posted by Sithiee on Jul. 01 2000,19:01
actually, taco bell pays a fine every year to use meat that has such a low grade its illegal, so they pay a fine each year to the FDA, but i guess that they still make a profit but paying less for meat.
Posted by jptech on Jul. 01 2000,22:41
Therefore a damned good reason not to eat their meat, or whatever it is.
Posted by Bozeman on Jul. 02 2000,22:29
We had a Taco Bell franchise in my cafeteria. We called it toxic hell, and even though they use grade x horsemeat, the lines were backed up for hours. Ah, America...
Posted by Chrissy on Jul. 02 2000,23:23
Sithiee,
Where the heck do you get all this information. I mean I dont really care since I dont really eat there but once in a while.
Ahh well just interested thats all

Most of it is probably internet myths, and unlikely to be true, but it makes for a great story. Perhaps you should check out a site like urbanlegends.com, they pretty much lay the smackdown on rumors and tell you what's what. But then they could be just as much propaganda as everyone else is. I've learned not to blindly trust what I read or hear.

McD's is evil. I've ate there once, and only because I had no other option. I ordered a bigmac, it was thin bread, mayo-like sauce, 5 milimeter think patty, more thin bread, more mayo another 5 mm patty diced lettuce and thin bread again. And the fries sucked.

Now A&W.. theres a resurant for you.. real food and thier fries and #1 no holds barred. Double teen burger, Large fries, Chocolate shake... MMmmmmm...

you call McD's and Taco Smell food?

eeeuw.

I prefer to cook my own food, that way I KNOW what I'm getting (minus of course, the pesticides on my veggies and the hormones they inject in chicken)

Nevermind. I'm going to munch on some grass.

Oh, yeah, fertilizer.

Hmmmm...air sandwich.

A&W is good stuff, there's one in the mall near my house back home. I'm also a big Arby's fan (mmm, roast BEEF). Wendy's has good burgers, and I like either their Frostees or Jamoca shakes @ Arby's. McD's pretty much has it on fries and prolly chicken nuggets, and unfortunately Taco Hell pretty much has the taco market cornered. I know they use like grade D meat, but if you don't think about it it's really not so bad.
