Its a wonder what a week will do for you.I just spent a week at the finger lakes going from winery to winery. Such a nice place to relax and unwind. For one entire week i did not have a computer with internet or a cell phone. Sat out at night by the fire and drank beer and listened to nature. Drove around the country side during the day tasting wine and making fun of the locals. made it home with 4 1/2 cases of very good wine and an almost broken car that im trying to fix. All and all, a very good week. ------------------ Posted by L33T_h4x0r_d00d on May 29 2001,14:35
Goddamn dude that sounds like "a whole mess of fun". I love being in the country. Like where the sun sets and it gets DARK. Like cant see your hand infront of your face dark..------------------ Jim Bruer: I dont know.. fight mexicans or something. Tucson rules for stargazing. Until I moved here, I thought there were 8 stars. Turns out there's many. And, WG! How much fun, man! Glad you had a good week; hmm... I've been writing C++ all week... hense the punctuation; Posted by kuru on May 29 2001,23:25

quote: You know, its funny what you take for granted when you live with it for your whole life. Such as a) Being able to see the sky full of stars at night b) It getting DARK at night when theres a New Moon c) How fucking bright it is with a clear sky and a Full Moon. Its funny to hear you people talk about all these things, and how they're a great escape, and then realize thats it basically the same as me stepping out my front door. Am I the only one here who lives in a Rural community? ------------------ Posted by Cyrino on May 29 2001,23:36
Not me, I have the nice glow of chemical valley a couple kilometers away...------------------ Posted by Wolfguard on May 30 2001,11:27
The stars were amazing! you could see by the light of the moon when it was out and it was not even full. The best was the Thunderstorm on sunday night. We camp in a tent and had a t-storm pass right over us. It was the most intense thing i have ever experienced since artillery. Things were hitting so close that the flash and the bang hit at the same time! Driving along the lakes was just peaceful. There are some very cool waterfalls in that area (pics will be posted soon of the trip). If you get a chance to get up there, bring a credit card. the wine goes for 10-20 bucks a bottle but is worth every penny of it. Once every thing is unpacked, cleaned, and put away ill post a wine list. Most of it will be dry reds and whites but all is good.

I personally like sitting in front of a fire, with a nice blanket and a few beers, stairing at the stars with my girl accompayning me. It's great.------------------ A Perfect Circle This message has been edited by Blowgoats on May 31, 2001 at 02:56 PM |
