Ever think that perhaps the trash gets blown to the middle...you know like those cyclones of leaves or dirt---they occur more in empty lots---

then again what do I know?

Nope, that's been ruled out... the wind blows towards the front and that explains the small build-up of tiny bits of paper and leaves against the curb. It doesn't effect the big stuff (can, bottles, newspapers, pastic wrappers, etc.)...

I've been working here 5 months now, and when after cleaning the parking lot so many times I've noticed something. The litter is not logically spread!

What I mean is: people come out of their car and throw something on the ground all the time, and you'd assume that it would be a gradiant amount through-out the parking lot with more towards the front (because THOSE parking spaces get used more of course). Most of the litter in actuallity is actually towards the center! So I've develped 2 theories to explain this phanomona...

A) The Trash Tollerance Timer (TTTT)
People will only be able to stand the trash that they have in their hands for about 10 seconds. People who park in the front will be able to make it to the trash cans infront in under 10 seconds and throw it in there. The people towards the middle, see that making to those trash cans in under 10 seconds is futile and drop it right where the've parked.

B) Retarted Ranting Rubish Relivers (RRRR)
The people who complain about getting bad parking spots ALWAYS get bad parking spots. This is because they're too stupid to realize that in order to get a good one you need to simply get their earlier. Sometimes they DO realize this, but would rather complain than change their lifestyle. Therefore, the people who park in the middle are jerks and are more prone to disregard that someone else has to pick up whatever they've dropped.

i have the reason there is more trash in the middle. your gradient idea is correct but you didnt notice that there is another gradient on top of the "parking space use" gradient. its the "i dont want to get yelled at by the janitor for throwing my trash on the ground" gradient. so the people closest to the front dont throw there shit on the ground cause they dont want to get busted, but more towards the back they feel safer because there is less traffic and less chance they will be caught. my powers of deduction are amazing.

Hrm... very possible... esspecially when you consider that some people come here JUST to leave stuff (example: a bag of cement that accidently hardened). I guess they would WANT to park further back before the dumped it and sped-off...
