One day when I was walking to my car after work, I saw a bum. So I was thinking about giving him some money and he said, "Hello, good buddy!" So spontaniously I asked him if he wanted to join me for dinner.

We went to McDonalads and I paid (CHEAP BASTARD! j/k ) and that was that...

Next day... I saw him again... so I asked him again... and we went again... and he got a 99cent burger again.

We did this everyday for about a month and it's fun cause he talks about all kinds of crazy shit!

He's into wichcraft and alien/government cospiracies and he belives the Egyptians had computers and stuff. He sounds smart, but at the same time he's a little nutty. He claimes to have been a funk DJ known as Funky Fred and marched with MLK Jr. and fought in Viet Nam. He has all kinds of weird stories to tell. Sure... he says, goddammit and cocksucker and sonofabitch alot... but he's still cool.

ANYWAY... the point is... a few days ago after 'dinner' he said he wanted to show me something. So I waited in my car while he got it. He brought back a box with a TON of computer games that he got from the Salvation Army! Most of 'em you'll find for sale in my ebay profile, but the ones I'm keeping: X-Com Collecters Edition, Desent 3, Stratousphere and SimCity 3000!

The NEXT day he had me wait yet again and brough a Commodore 64 STILL IN THE BOX!!! THIS THING IS IN NEAR PERFECT CONDITION!!! (just got a UHF to VHF addapter... so I haven't tested it yet)

Yesterday he gave me a computer Joystick and today he gave me the DiskDrive add-on for the Commodore 64!!!

THIS IS WORTH EVERY FUCKING HAMBURGER!! IT PAYS TO HELP THE NEEDY!! BAWHAHAHAHAHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHH I RULE!!!!!!

DAMN YOU! I can't belive you even thought of this! I payed gave him ษ the next day for the Commodore, but the rest is supposed to be some form of repayment... I was nice to him... now he's being nice to me...

I'm not as big of a fan of bums. Maybe it's the social darwinist in me, or maybe it's my experiences.

I've come across a bunch of bums while in Milwaukee. This one (Darnell) would always be standing in the only way from the dorms to my car, where I had to walk each day to get to work, and tons of other people did too. He used the same story every day. He wanted ย to buy a bus ticket back to Indiana... for about 18 months. Like, he couldn't save that up in well over a year. He would hound students for it. It was annoying. I almost drove him to the damn bus station one day, but I was a bit scared of him.

In Tucson, up until mid-May (new law), bums would sit on every median in town wearing an orange vest (bunch got hit a couple years ago) and just beg. They do this every day (except the weekend) all day long (starting at 9AM). And, the homeless shelters are great around here. Free meals and clothes. They're just out there getting money to buy a 12 pack of Natural Light or drugs. I saw one bum holding a sign saying: "Hungry. Anything helps"... then, i saw him pull a joint from behind the sign and take a puff. Come the fuck on... you gots da fuckin' munchies.

I saw on the news a story about bums and there was one on saying that he's been doing this for almost 25 years. Jesus. Don't you have any initiative? Do you care that you're wasting our oxygen? Do you enjoy this lifestyle?

I'm sorry. I'm not a big fan of bums.

i saw this one guy on the street yesterday who had some hair style...i think its call frost tips or something, whatever, the point is, its not cheap, and a) if he actually was homeless like his sign said, and he spendss his money on his hair, he doesnt deserve any, and b)if not a) then i doubt he actually was homeless.

That's sweet, i remember last time i was drunk in NYC with a bunch of friends, we hung out with this bum and just talked and smoked for a few hours, he told us his life story and we supplied him with smokes, it was pretty cool.

I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of bums either. It's just that he was nice TO ME. And I bet you'd like a bum much better if he gave you a Commodor 64!
