Hey,
Does anyone know if/how i can add password protection to some of my directories in Windows 98? Thanks

Your best bet is "Magic Folders". I don't know where to get it now, but it's a decent encryption/hiding tool. I used to use it, but now I just pwd my entire system. If I ever find it again I'll let you know though.Stomper

Get Win2K. Just find somebody with it. Somebody has to have a brother in college (making an assumption) who can get it. You can do per folder encryption/ security when you have NTFS. I guess if you can't, don't label it pr0n... or, actually, you probably could as most don't know that term.

Mine are in my win\sys\colourno one bothers to look there, and who reads files renamed to dll extensions? Aside from that my computer is completely mine, my mom just used it a few times for typing lessons. It's always good to be paranoid with your pr0n tho!

Mine are tucked safely away in my c:\misc\asd\bware\ folder. Far from prying eyes of the others.Another option for you though; Set your directory(s) to Hidden. Make sure that windows isn't set to show hidden files. Then just use WinFile to access the dir. Works mucho better anyways, because when you run a file from WinFile, it isn't left in the Documents menu. ------------------

And if it's the Documents menu that you're worried about there's a registry fix for that.
