A 3000GT is a car made by mitsubishi.------------------ Posted by chmod on Nov. 03 2001,22:36
I once saw a 3000gt with the license plate number "I8A4RE2" (read it out loud). But I doubt that.... i don't think it's anything special. < http://www.ukcar.com/sframe.htm?/road_tests/Mitsubishi/3000GT/ >

One of my old bosses had a 3000gt vr4, the 4 wheel drive model. It was pretty quick but it wasnt worth a shit in the snow... not that many other sports cars are.------------------ Posted by hal0 on Nov. 03 2001,23:33
Mitsubishi 3000GT's are pretty sweet imports...here's one in action (drag race) < http://stanek.com/mkiv-supra/members/al98t/mpegs/sup-3000.mpg > here's more info on it: < http://stealth.senecac.on.ca/frames/3000gt.html > the vr-4 version makes 320 hp and pumps out a sub-6 second 0-60 time. they don't make them anymore a burnout just ain't the same when it comes from the front tires. heh ------------------ Posted by syf on Nov. 03 2001,23:56

Yeah the 300GTs are pretty tight. My cousin went to the only AWD Dyno on the east coast up in Maryland last year and there was a Stealth (same as the 3000GT but made by Dodge, has to do with all that DSM stuff) with some bolt ons that was pushing 320 hp. < http://people.clarityconnect.com/webpages3/bpeck/jfreund/Tealnet/Nightmare\%20-\%20Second\%20Run.avi > My cousin's got a 2g Mitsu Eclipse GSX. Those cars can be pretty fast with some basic mods. I believe my cousin ran ~13.0 with some basic mods, 16G turbo, exhaust, fuel pump, etc......

Anyone have alot of car clips on their box? I used to have this clip called LexusCatchup.mpg. It was a SC300 with a Supra TT engine dropped in it catching up with a Viper and some 11 sec RX-7s. If anyone hs it or runs across it let me know.

I had that one too but I just found the video I was looking for. A friend had the link still on his computer. < www.turbolexus.com > this guy has a nice SC300 with a Supra TT engine in it. Here's the vid I was talking about, wish my Volvo could do that < http://racevideos.faction-zero.net/Highway\%20Races/LexusCatchup.mpeg >

my dad used to own a '98 vr-4, he got rid of it though, he slid on some snow and got into a minor accident and his insurance on it doubled. (very minor accident too) damn shame, was a beauty of a car.

The only problem with the Vr4's was the fact that mitsubishi sucked at transmissions and transaxels. So your really couldnt do any thing too radical to the engine or the transaxel would drop out on the ground.I have seen some down at the drag strip with massive turbos and 150 hp shot of nitrous but they all had haminachi custom drivetrains. I can remember someone mentioning the price tag of around ฤk. ------------------ |
