she had to be downed cos we went over the transfer limit, if it happens again, my friend goes up for academic review, I'm working on a script that shuts off all connections after ~700MB is transfered. Anyone have any thoughts/input on such a script?

Yeah, don't do it man, I wouldn't risk your friend getting an academic review, why not move it elsewhere?

as soon as I can get a decent job, I'm upgrading my connection here to faster dsl, then I can use debbie (my linux box here) as a cs server, or just move elise here.

I understand your idea SLATE, I just dislike it. I have a dedicated server running from my house, but it's crap man. Hell I could set us up a clan server, but it wouldn't be that good, and neither would your, because your conection would still be Cable or DSL. And Kl1NK too bad you have to put it on DSL, wish I could volenteer bandwidth to you, but I probably have less then you :-\

Aww I was gonna join in the other day.. btw slate arent in some far away land .. in some.. far away land? KL1NK is in CALI! CALI!! And I mean lag is just ... like none.is there a better way to make sure elise is ready to be ridden again..?

yeah, ill take it to college with me (after making sure my college doesnt have the same dumb rules as uk sean connery's) and we will have mad speed out the ass. but i will have a 0 ping so i will 0wn you all

when I upgrade my dsl, it will probably be faster than the university connection (considering that connection was shared/limited bandwidth) so it's probably better that I bring 'er hereedit: plus, I will not lag the server by connecting, nor will anyone on my lan (read: lan games), being on the local network.
