Just a few off the top of my head:- "To kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. Received the Pulitzer Prize in the 1960's. - "The English Patient" by Michael Ondaatje. Booker Prize in 1992. A list of English-writing Nobel prize winners: 1907 Rudyard Kipling ("The Jungle Book", "Kim") "The Lord of the Flies" by William Golding is a good book, highly appreciated by English teachers. ------------------ Posted by masher on Nov. 02 2001,08:14
