What is it with this world that everywhere you go you really can't trust anyone, or people are out to decieve you, or manipulate you, or everything is so contradictory?

I'm getting confused..

Let's discuss..

Posted by Spydir on May 04 2001,23:33
discuss why you're confused? Because you're an idiot...

discuss why people suck? A person is smart, but people are dumb. That's some MIB quotin' for ya.

The reason people are "out to get you" is because they want stuff. If you're an easy target, they're gonna get you. If you're not an easy target, they'll leave you alone.

some truth in that, yea. i wish you wouldnt have to word it that way because now i feel rather bad.

im not an 'idiot', not by terms of intelligence- but i trust people too easy.

anyhow i was thinking we'd discuss why this has come to.. not me.

solid - I was kidding around about the idiot comment. The human mind is quite confusing.

Choas Disciple aka Dysorderia or whatever the fuck it is - It's "Spydir", not "Spyduh", and actually I'm quite social. I just happen to have, what I consider (including the many people that have sent me emails, in agreement, with articles I have written for numerous sources spread around the globe), a good understanding of the human mind.

I'll explain.

Every human has a need to be above, a need for power. By taking advantage of you they either complete, temporary, this need by a) getting the pleasure of having you under control, or b) use what they get from you to be in control. Trust, imo, is obsolete. Said by many people, you can't even trust yourself. You just have to take the changes and do what you do. How do you know those apples you just bought at the grocery store aren't genetically altered with nanotech. to send your exactly location, within 15mm, to a satelitte, run by Big Brother? You don't know that, but you trust that it doesn't.

Anyways... I really don't care what you think, because you're an idiot. I dare you to attempt any come back, and I will continue to shoot you down, with out resorting to use of name calling or stereotyping. And I know I just called you an idiot, but that's not namecalling, that's stating fact. The truth hurts, don't it?

How can you verify such a statement when you don't even know me?

I know that, on this forum, I may come across as being an idiot because I have a tendency to jump into the proverbial deep end without knowing what might happen as a consequence of me doing so.

Thats a pretty good definition of an idiot right there.

I think that the happenings in this thread are a great example to why humans are so complex. You assume way too quickly. If you give eachother space to speak their respective mind, then we'd all be happy little fuckers, wouldn't we? Yeah, maybe you're right, we're all just idiots, correct?

And another thing- theres so many views on so many things by so many people, how do you know which one to follow? And how do you create your own?

ROFL @ blowgoats!

actually, the world is one fucked up place, filled with greed, hatred, and violence. People will violate you, or, in other words, use you, because they need to get their hands on something.... or they need to have that power of manipulation. If the world didn't have greed, hatred, or violence, well, the world would be one fucked up hippie (THAT'S RIGHT ASKHEAVES, I SPELLED IT RIGHT!!!) wonderland! I think we should all just shut the fuck up and live life like we should; NO COMPLAINING!!!

That's actually a good thing, having so many different views--what I would do is look at the reasonings behind the views, and base my opinion on the reasoning that makes the most sense (or, perhaps, the one that has the least amount of nonsense). It really all comes down to using reason and logic, I believe.

Yes, ok, I know that there are some things that defy both, but for most mundane things, reason and logic work well. Sheesh.

As for the human psyche, there are two things to remember (and aren't quite related):

--People will act selfishly
--Nothing lasts forever

Just remember that NO MATTER WHAT SOMEONE DOES, it is for their own benefit. To date, the only exceptions to this rule are wildly improbable. As long as you realize this, the only thing you have to learn is what an individual wants, be it money, respect, fame, or a good time.

What do I mean by "Nothing Lasts Forever"? Lots of folks, myself included, expect too much from either people or (more frequently) stuff. If you realize that stuff is gonna break and people are not always gonna live up to your private expectations, you won't be disappointed as often.
