I can't punt a ball. I can't throw a strike. I can't slam. I can't volley. I can't serve. I hate running. All I can really do is ski.
(not me, but a damn nice pic)

Right now it's looking like Colorado (I have a free place to stay a stone's throw from 3 lifts at the Highlands). How about the rest of you? Anyone ski or board? Telemarkers? Alpine? Jibbers? If not, feel free to support my claim that ski bunnies are the hottest "sports female" of any other sport. Chicks that ski drive me fucking batty:
Marry me, Karolina. Oooh - one last thing. Ski camp. This kicks ass: This message has been edited by whiskey@throttle on October 29, 2001 at 02:43 PM Posted by kornalldaway on Oct. 28 2001,19:46

I ski and figure skate ... does ice fishing count?

I havn't yet made the transition from skateboarding to snowboarding i imagine its ten times better, winter is well on its way so im sure ill be given the chance. I did make the transition from roller skating to ice skating.. never got much further than a double flip and many attempts at a double axle prolly shit that no one even knows what im talking about, ice skating for most is just an excuse to see huge wedgies im going to run along now.------------------ Posted by whiskey@throttle on Oct. 28 2001,21:16
I think rollerblading/ice skating is the closest you can get to skiing without actually getting up on the mountain. I really don't see the same connection between skating and snowboarding though (unless you're talking about the Sector9 longboard cruisers, etc). If I were you I'd take up skiing. i r0x0r at snowboarding, yo! ph3ar my skillz.well, not really. but i can do down a 1.3 mile trail without falling ONCE! heh heh. and i can do a 360 of small jumps. pretty good for me. now i just need new gloves. damned dog chewed up my old ones. Posted by solid on Oct. 28 2001,22:31
Heh, I only went snowboarding once, but it was as fun as hell, and my brother rammed right into my lower back (sort of like.. the back half of a worn belt, that area) with his board when I fell... oh man.. good times, good times.

Funny, I've been meaning to start a ski/snowboard thread...now lets see how long it takes for the relevance meter to hit rock bottom.
quote: Damn right! Cept I snowboard...I consider myself pretty damn good, although I need to work on tricks more...but as far as technique goes I'm pretty good. I've been boarding about 3 years now, and I ride a Burton Floater 155 (color black, not blue like in this pic:)
Looks like I'm gonna be riding at Summit at Snoqualmie, Crystal Mountain, or Baker this year; mostly Summit though because I have a season pass there and know the terrain and everything... ------------------ Posted by EvilGenius on Oct. 28 2001,22:57
snowboarding is the greatest thing to do besides sport fucking, i suppose.. i'd give anything to move somewhere with mountains.. which most people consider crazy since i grew up 10 minutes away from the Gulkf Coast my entire life... but i've been snowboarding a few times, and i can't wait to go again.------------------ Posted by whiskey@throttle on Oct. 28 2001,23:33
I really want these skis:Fat enough for off piste, short enough and twintip for the park...nice sidecut...too bad I can't spend my money on 'em. I need to buy a new box and some other shit. I want them BAD though. Meh, I'll probably settle for last year's BanditXX or Powairs. Floater's a nice board though. How's it treating you P_D? My buddy took one to Park City/Canyons last year and loved it. Deep snow, rode like a charm. BTW, how's are the mountains in Washington? Never been there... Posted by melk0r on Oct. 29 2001,00:04
ah fuck you! i ride burton 155, and my board is grayish shit color. i love it i got my board last year, and rented a lot a year before that, so im semi decent at the techniques, this year im working on the hardcore sh1t. oh, btw, the feeling you get when snowboarding down a mountain doing these huge fucking carves beats skiing any day of the week.

oh yea I also do cross country snowballing ... when you wipe out pretty high up the mountain, have a bigass yard sale, and tumble down towards the bottom ... *pouf*
Posted by Beldurin on Oct. 29 2001,00:53
quote: oh...THAT kind of snowballing *whew* When I was 16 I flew out to Utah w/the fam for a skiing trip @ Powder Mtn. and Snowbasin. It was SWEET until I nearly got myself killed trying to get a funny/cool picture. ------------------ Posted by gambit on Oct. 29 2001,01:30
quote: haha. watching some poor skier crash all over the mountian reminds me why being stapped in is so much better. Don't get me wrong I used to ski for many years but as of late(3 years) all I've done was board. I have a real crappy Rossignol board and binding to match but it's the not the equipment that counts. Bah! Who am I kidding i'm in the market for some new Vans boots and Switch bindings my feet ache when Ii'm done. ------------------ Posted by afropik on Oct. 29 2001,01:39
I snowboard, I'd consider myself pretty good. I ride a really beat up Santa Cruz with some fairly nice Forum bindings. I really would like to get one of the new M3 Sidewall boards, but I'm hoping that I can get sponsored by local shops or something, so I'll wait out for the discounts I'll be rocking it at < Camelback > this year (season pass), and plan on going up to Jay Peak sometime in March/April.
