Has anyone of you guys(and gals) seen this movie yet? I just saw it tonight and it was incredible. Full of suspence and action. When it was over I felt like it was 50 minutes long. It ended way to soon. In reality it was about and hour and 45 minutes. You guys should check this out.------------------ Posted by Spydir on Oct. 27 2001,12:12
do you mean it could of had more story, or that it didn't have enough? That sounds they same, but they're not Because if it could have had more, that just means they're leaving room for a "good" squel. ------------------ Posted by mqa on Oct. 27 2001,16:56
Personally I thought it was really lame. Half the film was just pictures of the house with the ghosts flashing in and out with a soundtrack of "creepy" voices. it was like: "oh shit, the ghost is right by her! (stobe flash) oh wait its gone! (stobe flash w/ voice sound effect) oh shit, it's back!!" plus i thought the plot was pretty weak. as were the characters. i just didn't find them believable, and i found myself wshing they would all die (except for the chick who should make out with me). although if you're in to shallow horror movies, go see it. Did you get to see any of Shannon Elizabeth's "talent"?
Posted by Rhydant on Oct. 27 2001,19:46
screw that. go see K-PAX. t'was very good ideed. Posted by veistran on Oct. 27 2001,20:41
yeah, k-pax looks like the best thing out, the rest looks mostly like drivel.------------------ Posted by L33T_h4x0r_d00d on Oct. 27 2001,21:17
Who else is up for BONES? It looks like a slightly newer version of < this >.------------------ This message has been edited by L33T_h4x0r_d00d on October 28, 2001 at 04:19 PM Posted by Spydir on Oct. 27 2001,22:34
I'm actually a somewhat fan of snoop dogg (I prefer his older stuff. All the izzy's just started confusing me...), so I'll probably catch bones. Plus I like watching vampire related movies to see how close to the "real thing" they are.------------------ Posted by Nikita on Oct. 28 2001,01:47
13 ghosts was entertaining. Sure scared the living crap out of me. Would have probably been better if I didn't have 2 cups of fuckin strong coffee before I went to watch it (fed to me by dance partner and his roomie b/c I was so damn tired). It gave me the heebie jeebies. But hell, I was sitting between 2 cute guys who jumped more often than I did so ...

Did it have Shannon Elizabeths tits in it? If it doesnt I probably wont go see it. I probably will go see it. The only scary parts i notice are that fugly dude from Scream and Hackers saying stupid shit. Training Day kicked ass. Full action for 2 straight hours. KPAX was ok but the ending was disturbing and Zoolander was pretty funny. From Hell was sortof freaky.------------------ Posted by Greasemonk on Oct. 28 2001,19:47

Anything more than ŭ.50 a ticket and I won't patronize the establishment just on principal, but then I'm a cheap bastard and I don't particularly trust hollywood.------------------ Posted by Vainness on Oct. 29 2001,05:53
As beautiful to look at as it is awful to sit through. Once upon a time when we were teenaged, a typical Saturday night would involve getting blotto and going to the movies. When you're blotto, even bad movies look good and truly awful movies can somtimes approach the level of Art. That pretty much sums up to the total waste of time that Thirteen Ghosts is. The producers must remember their Days of being blotto, for they've thrown zillions of dollars of production values at the screen and paid their script write about a buck thirty seven. Its not a good thing when the scenery is more interesting to look at than the performance in the filmstory. The story can't decide whether it wants to be simply stupid or confusing as, um, hell. Waste of my Ű.50. I want my money back! Posted by Wiley on Oct. 31 2001,13:08
13 ghosts sucked! There was an over use of the stupid strobe effect (left over from House on Haunted Hill) as well as the constant cuts to gears turning (again ..this was used in House on Haunted Hill) and the ghosts were not too scarry. I thought the pale naked chickie ghost had a smoking body (if you could get past the scars on the boobies). The plot was overly predictable and the actors seemed to just be going through the scenes like the entire movie was a rehersal. The ecentric psychic/power guy was pretty funny and was the only thing that made the move watchable. The only think that would have saved this movie is Shannon Elizabeth getting naked.

meh I liked it. sorta reminded me of event horizon.

THE EVENT HORIZON FALLEN SOUFFLE:1 cup of Hellraiser 1/2 cup of Aliens 1 tsp of Star Trek A dash of Dune 1 Quart of dumb dialogue Insultingly outrageous stretches to taste This cheerful little piece is brought to us by director Paul Anderson. Im' no science whiz, ok im lying yes i am, but i think we need to pass a law that sci fi directors pass a BASIC PHYSICS class. Paul, let me share some secrets: 1.if you get jettsoned into space without a suit, the result isn't just a nosebleed. 2.Remember that in space, 'Nobody can hear you scream?' You are obviously a disciple of the Alien movies, so you should have picked up on that one. This movie is not as bad as 13 Ghosts, but its so bad its insulting. Its insulting because it tries to pass itself off as a pyschological horror, and instead its just buckets of guts and pretense. Im going to get in touch with my congressman and lobby for it to be a federal offense to try and mix demonic horror and sci fi.All offenders must be strapped down and forced to watch an Adam Sandler marathon.. ANOTHER WASTE OF MONEY. ------------------ This message has been edited by Vainness on November 04, 2001 at 11:01 AM Posted by ASCIIMan on Nov. 03 2001,11:00
Vainess: You may be right on 2 & 3, but you're wrong on 1. < Here's one of many sources that will explain what really happens. >

as for #3, NO MOVIE OR TV SHOW (except b5) has EVER done that right, so don't bitch about one movie in particular.
Posted by ASCIIMan on Nov. 03 2001,19:55
ST:TOS did, for the first few episodes, until they decided they needed to be like everyone else.

What about 2001 and 2010?

how many other subjects have more myths floating around about it than exposure to hard vacuum?
Posted by Vainness on Nov. 04 2001,07:47
Ill bitch about basically any movie. You name it, its not personal.------------------ Posted by ASCIIMan on Nov. 04 2001,12:16
2001 is cool partly because it actually gets the physics right. A cookie to anyone who can point out an example of physical inaccuracy in 2001.

Well, for one there's the classic scifi/space movie flaw - stars seems to glide by as the spaceship remains static, and we all know thats a bunch of crap. Posted by ASCIIMan on Nov. 04 2001,15:15
Unless they were panning while the spaceship turned. Next question.
