I really like that game, anyhow- how many people here have it w/ the multiplayer patch?

And how many have the SDK?

And how many actually passed the thing on hard mode?

Day-Es-Ex

Edit:

Deus Ex, as described on the game box, is a legend of a conspiracy held long ago for world domination, and now after 1000's of years of planning, it's being undertaken. You end up stopping them, the ones hellbent on taking over.

It's pretty nifty, it has a lot of good conspiracies to share and the gameplay is awesome. It's like a first person RPG. You can pass the whole game without killing a single person. Not even the bosses.

that game rocked out. except there werent enough weapon mods, and cool weapons. there should have been more than one sniper rifle. like maybe 2. and some of the abilities were useless..but the game still rocked out.

Yea, I strongly wanted it to have 30-50 weapons to choose from, but I really didn't care much for the mods- if it had something like a built in mod augmentation to modify weapons with certain canisters or something, that would've been much better.

The worst part (for me anyways) was how science fictional it got at the end, in the bunker. I just didn't enjoy fighting supposed aliens and karkians.

Did you guys visit the door adjacent to the one paul was in when he was about to die? That was funny, aside from that I helped Paul do the battle against the unatco agents and checked back and those two were still at it, considering the fact that shots were fired and explosions occured.

Deus Ex = good old Latin again. Short for "deus ex machina" meaning "Two Of Machine". Anyone who's played the game can realize that means JC and his brother Paul (and those who haven't, here you go.) "Deus Ex" in itself is also a Latin "slang" meaning "one who shows up unexpectedly to provide a solution to an otherwise unsolveable problem". There's JC for you.

Personally I think the game ROCKS, but it badly needed the D3D/OGL support earlier. When a geForce can't break 30 that's pathetic. I'm still playing it now on Realistic (no I'm not a masochist, I'm just damn good at it) and it's the most challenging game yet IMO (without being totally unfair).

I really should get the MP patch and the SDK and see if I can hack some new weapons into it... of course DX2 is coming out soon(?) so why bother...

WHAT?! MGS was aweful! So was half life! HL was is now nothing but a half ass strategy FPS! Deus Ex is THE ultimate RPG/FPS.. anyhow, mgs provided no exploration or real replay value- you just HAD to follow the storyline.. thats what i hated. That and the fact that it became more fictional at the end, what with the ninja and the psycho-mantis. The demo gave me a completely wrong impression.

Btw, I didn't know that deus ex meant that in latin. That's pretty clever, considering they probably searched that up.. man.. they pretty much thought of everything in the game.. except how crates, and barrels break when shot by projectile weapons, there should just be bullet holes.

yeah, cause smacking them with a crobar is so much more likely to break them open. mgs is good, but not better than deus ex. HL is superior to deus ex though. while deus ex was very realistic and all, it didnt make me nearly shit myself being scared of the bad guys(man, those brain eater guys are psychos in small spaces! AAAAHHHH).

I'd still prefer realism instead of aliens and fictional, scary stuff.

Multiplayer, Deus Ex sucks, but I can whoop practically anyones ass, considering you can get a gep gun and a sniper rifle to start with.

Edit:
Let's not forget it's soundtrack. It was pretty awesome considering this would be the type of music they'd be playing in the year 2052.
