don't know how you treat newbies here, so i'll just go back into my little shell now.

we dont really 'treat' newbies at all not like some forums like sinfest's

just start posting dude, just dont say anything too controversial til you have a few posts up your sleeve hehe

and all newbies must visit my mp3.com site and download all my songs and tell me they like them. hehe

yeah. pretty much, being a newbie is not worthy of ridicule. It's the things that newbies tend to do that make life tough. Like starting a worthless thread with their first post (though, nothing wrong in this case). And, it's not necessarily isolated to l4m0rz... just look at CatKnight, if you need proof.

Plus, being a Canadian doesn't help you out any. So, good luck against those 2 strikes

wait till your third post to start pissing people off.

just keep goin on like you are, and you'll fit in fine.

Alright, thats it. You made me do this.

Askheaves should be returning to the forums in a month or so.. The Royal Canadian Hordes need a word with him.

Don't worry, we'll set up an AI to cover for him.

(PS: Hope you like maple syrup)

Coming from a newbie perspective, I look at it like this. You have a few options:

1. Cower in the corner and say nothing. BORING!!!

2. Lurk in the shadows. (Refer to number one.)

3. Tread lightly and make your posts as unoffensive as possible and pray noone takes anything the wrong way.

4. Come in guns blazing, not caring who you hit. This can make interaction a bit rough. However, from what I've seen so far, interaction can be a bit rough here whether you're l33t or l4m3.

5. Or my personal favorite. Relax and say what you have to say.

Hey, Aginor, quick question--is your handle inspired by WOT?

Just a question.

just look at me, i stumbled here through STILEPROJECT (i was bored and needed a change from the ever.. oh wait no that is the everyday)

and ive been here for less than a month!
just listen to fatbitch and dont say anything too controversial and make funny/witty comments on the side, that are moderately long, and then start writing a little from your own experience, and soon enough youll know the detnet way

Posted by Vigilante on Feb. 01 2001,23:26
Fools! you have no idea what you're dealing with.

*whimper*

Posted by CatKnight on Feb. 02 2001,02:02
ohhhh....so that's what you're supposed to do! i'll keep that in mind.

People like that usually don't hang around very long. When's the last anyone heard from xaustinx or some of those other people blazing through to be l33t?
