Installed this pice of shit some minutes ago, and i cant get rid of the media library, it adds all movies i play to the library. How do i stop it from doing this? I don't want it to add all my pr0n movies to a playlist...------------------ Posted by CatKnight on Aug. 27 2001,00:23

zero all data on your hard drive. that should do it.

You have to manually remove everything from your library list every time, then remove it from the deleted items section.<Nelson> Ha ha! </Nelson> mplayer2.exe is still there (Windows Media Player 6.x) so I use it. Takes much less time to start, and it lets me tweak the settings on some of the video codecs (Like MPEG-4 and DivX) ------------------ This message has been edited by Observer on August 27, 2001 at 08:13 PM Posted by TheTaxMan on Aug. 27 2001,02:35
The trick is not to use windows media for anything...------------------ quote: Posted by Rhydant on Aug. 27 2001,03:34
i really hate WMP because you cant fast-forward through .ASF movies.thats why i use Global DiVX. plays all your favorite mpeg, avi, asf, and divx movies! ------------------ Posted by incubus on Aug. 27 2001,16:03
Upgrade to WMP8 :-)That version r0x0rz. Posted by acidfire on Aug. 27 2001,17:30
the reason for using wmp is that i have a gfx need, wich almost requires me to use wmp7 and it's skins but as u've said, I also like the speed and functionallity in wmp6.4 ------------------ Posted by askheaves on Aug. 27 2001,18:42
I have WMP 8. It's really much nicer than 7, though I never tried 7.1. I can play DVDs Hey, does anybody know something I can use to play a 6 hour long mp2 file with a corrupt header? I found one thing that played the first 80 minutes of it... Posted by Observer on Aug. 27 2001,21:23
A commercial software or hardware DVD player perhaps?I've found the player for my hardware decoder is pretty good with some corrupt files. ------------------ Posted by askheaves on Aug. 27 2001,21:55
How would I accomplish that, Observer? Should I burn it onto a CD? I'd put it in my DVD player, except that it seems to have died. I do have a DVD in my computer and laptop though. Should I be burning in CDFS? I just don't know exactly what to do. It's somewhat important I hear it because it's audio of an idiot being fired that I had to be out of the room for Posted by TheTaxMan on Aug. 27 2001,22:37
This took more than 80 minutes? Jebus...------------------ quote: Posted by askheaves on Aug. 27 2001,22:43
Can't talk too much about it, really. He owns 37\% of the company, but is grossly incompetant. My buddy and I had to be there to prove it for the first 5 hours, then the fun began when we were asked to leave.

Oh! When you said it was a "mp2" file, I figured you meant a MPEG-2 video file. Mp2 is also used as an extension for MPEG-1 Layer-2 audio files, which Winamp can handle quite nicely. Have you tried it with Winamp?------------------ Posted by incubus on Aug. 28 2001,13:10
wmp8 comes with windows XP.heaves, check out sourceforge.net. a lot of the open-source players focus on being able to play bad files, and a lot have win32 versions. |
