quote: Honestly, I didn't want her to be in the 2 sequels... I've never liked her music and I don't think shes a good actress. Though, it does suck she died. But hey, people die all the time. Probably 100 people died as I wrote this. Shit happens, I move on.

quote: No, LIFE is an illusion. She has merely progressed to the next stage of the True Death. ------------------ Posted by cr0bar on Aug. 26 2001,02:35
The illusory nature of death does not preclude life from being such too.

quote: Maybe so.. but if that's true where does one get true awareness or perception? If this is all false, then it must mean something is true. Posted by askheaves on Aug. 26 2001,05:35
I saw that on the news this morning. Sucks. She's not the greatest actress, but I love her singing. Quite the shame. I'll bet the MTV Video Music Awards (Sept 6?) will be littered with tributes to her. Posted by LiNeY on Aug. 26 2001,11:27
As cr0 posted this, I guess true awareness lies in weed... To get on-topic again, I think the death of Aaliyah is a real loss. She was a great singer and a good actress... Posted by cr0bar on Aug. 26 2001,13:14
Who said anything about life being false? Why must anything be true? Are we too arrogant to accept that we do not (cannot) understand life or death? (That's an inclusive "or") Oh, and I'm sorry to be insensitive, but another pop "artist" bites the dust. I'm sure the loss is quite palpable for all her fans, but really my only sympathies go out to the people who knew her personally. Posted by Dark Knight Bob on Aug. 26 2001,16:36
