I would LOVE to see this! Someone go dig up the old BBS game Trade Wars, make it into some sort of java based game, and put it somewhere on detnet where all registered users can play. That would just rox0r so much!

Don't hold your breath.Still, at e3, one of the dudes from digipen told me a new TW was coming out...though they changed a lot of things and it was supposed to suck (for instance, no more pirating/blowing up ports or something like that)

Baren Realms Elite was a much better game, but hell Trade Wars would be just fine.------------------

It has been done. get the client: < http://www.classic-games.com/tradewars/w-tw008.zip > and connect to 24.190.227.224:4000 with that client. Enjoy. SLATE

DUDES! Did ya's not play Legend of the Red Dragon (LORD) or Planets back in the early 90's? Those 2 games kicked a lot of ass. And there was another game that involved trading and free trade and biological/chem warfare stuff. I can't be bothered to dig up all the info I had printed out about that game but it was an excellent game.

Haha! My friend used to run a BBS with LORD on it ... all everyone did was go get b00tay. No fighting, except OVER b00tay.Very fun.

my friend was telling me that there are a bunch of tradewars games on the internet still. Very cool.My favorite game was Operation: Overkill II. You needed at least 3 or more active players, but it got to be really fun. Weird thing was that the combat worked so much better at 2400 than 14.4 or higher  ------------------

BRE still 0wns j00...but Cripple Smash has to be the funniest game of all time for BBSs... LOD was better than LORD, and Usurper was better than Assassin... Terra Firma was probably the best space game.
