...derive ln(1-x)? i would put this in the geek forum but seeing as how i need the answer a.s.a.p i put it here. god damn referred coursework!

its to show a Maclaurin series so any higher derivatives of said equation would be helpful

it's the same as ln x but you replace the x terms with (1-x) terms. and if you don't know what the maclaurin series for ln x is then you're in some deep shit anyway.

ya, just substitute (1-x) with something like u or v or whatever, and then derive ln(u)

Oh shit, I only learnt that about 4 months ago and it's nearly all gone due to celebrating the fact that I learnt the stuff and then managed to get a good grade in the exam.

Well, I could have done better if I'd revised.

Why the fuck have I decided to do Physics at University? I have a friend doing Surf Studies in Cornwall for three years. He has 8 hours of lectures a week. I shit you not. One 4 hour section is 'practical time'. That means surfing.

Bollocks.
cheers

You can prove it by using sin x and sin (2x) as an example. It's just like that.

it took me 1.5 fucking hours but i did the question. took me 20 minutes fo paniccing and mental sketches to realise that the factorials cancel down to a whole number. but shit i did it. now all i gotta do is show that the fucking thing converges t0
