Not sure where the hell to put this, so it gets to be in the Classroom by default...

quote:
WATER

1. 75\% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. (Likely applies to half world population)
2. In 37\% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3\%.
4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100\% of the dieters studied in a U- Washington study.
5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80\% of sufferers.
7. A mere 2\% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45\%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79\%, and one is 50\% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

COKE

1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, Remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

For Your Info:

1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would you like a glass of WATER or COKE ?

the stomach acid that is in your digestive system constantly is quite a bit more potent. it can dissolve a t-bone in just a couple hours!

Well even though it may be a falacy as someone posted earlier, it does have some truth. Soda is one of the big reasons people are getting tooth decay, the acids in soda corrode the calcium in teeth. Though you may have already heard it or whatnot it still shows some truth in the matter.

i will always prefer water to any drink. sure other drinks taste good, but nothing goes down better and keeps the thirst down better than a big cold glass of h2o. thats not to say i'll buy a glass for the same price as a pop, heck no, if i'm gonna pay i'd get a pop. but if you gave me free water or free pop i'd chose water.

Water + whiskey = bad.

Coke + whiskey = good.

End of story.

The part about the teeth may be true...but i really didnt think that you could dissolve a T-Bone steak in coke or wash blood off the highway with it..ect.

I can not remember where I heard/read, but stated that eating sweet starches like cookies actually can do more damage to your teeth since they have more small particles that cling to the tooth while saliva breaks down over longer time periods, thus the longer sugar/enamal contact allows more damage to occur. Anyone heard/have source?

Bluntman & Chronic is the worst comic I ever read. Jay and Silent Bob are stupid characters. A couple of stoners who spout dumb-ass catch-phrases like a third rate 'Cheech and Chong' or 'Bill and Ted'. Fuck Jay and Silent Bob. Fuck them up their stupid asses.

its called pop up in Canada because canada is gay.
or something.
but really. it doesnt matter. its just 'Pepsi'

its a fact mixing fizzy cola and 5 packets of star sparkles in your mouth at once makes your stomach explode.

ok mabye not but i've seen it done and the results are not good.

we shouold all drink more water though i mean if you dont need it you just piss it out its as simple as that. the thing with water is that you should drink it when you need it your body does not store it like it does with food this is another reason why rationing water in emergency situations is not a good idea. you should always drink as much as you need.

Good thing when I drink a coke I don't sit and gargle with it for 48 hours straight.
P.S. I don't mean to offend anyone who DOES do this. Just saying I don't.

In Milwaukee it's soda but in Madison it's pop. 65 miles of cultural difference and as far as I can tell in most major cities in the U.S it?fs soda.

The one about the coke and ham reminds me of the beer can chicken, where you just stick a can o' beer up in the hole(what is the proper name for that gaping maw?) and cook it for a nice moist roasted chicken.

    yea it's soda! S-O-D-A Sooooo-DAH!

Ooooh what if you shove a few packets of pop rocks in someone's bladder? y'know, the fizzy stuff that hurts in your mouth and not in your hand?

Gaping maw ... (brain slides down the gutter and into B.S. mode) ... also known as the stygian abyss and the bottomless pit, is a common occurence in hootchiemommas who have had more than their fair share of dippings ... the incessant "pounding" inflicted on the walls of these structures ...

No really, I don't know ... it could be a gargantuan asshole ...

I only said it was what I was reminded of by the ham recipe, neither one sounds/sounded particularly appetizing.
