If it makes you feel better, I spent the better part of an hour in a research lab today trying to configure a router and client to access though it to the 'net...checked IPs, subnets, gateways, config files...
Turned out that I had forgotten that I'd unplugged the WAN cable from the router.
At least I'm not as dumb as my supervisor...

I will be taking some cisco classes as part of the curriculum though and will hopefully get out w/my CCNA.

Cool. In my old high school, they had the first two of four semesters at the high school, then the remaining two at the college. I took the first two and flew through the curriculum, but unfortunately I moved before I could finish the damn thing up, and where I moved to I couldn't find it. So I'm just going to have to study real hard and take the test I guess.
