I went to afraidtoask.com and clicked on the Connors Parent Test for ADHD. < http://www.afraidtoask.com/ADHD/addconnors.html >
I thought back to high school (when I was 17... the top age on this test) and answered the questions. Apparently, even though I don't agree with the frequency of ADHD diagnosis, I had ADHD, according to this test. Anybody else?

quote:

Age: 17 years old
Gender: Male
Score: 22

Results: This score is ABNORMAL. Based on your answers, this child MIGHT HAVE ADHD or another problem. We suggest you discuss these behaviors with a physician or health care provider.

Someone thought I had ADD once 'cause I never did my homework and stared out the window all the time. The school counselor gave me some tests and figured out I was just bored and put me in harder classes.

But I don't think this happens much these days... bright kids aren't allowed to be bright anymore. Everyone needs SOME sort of disorder. ::sigh::

Well I got 15 on the test, and I do have ADD. I'm 19 now got diagnosed about 6 months ago with it, although that was when I was 18, so I had to see someone who deals with the 18 and under crowd. Sometime in the next 6 months I'm supposed to go see an adult specialist for a new diagnosis, because apparently there's a huge difference between adult ADD and the stuff found in kids.

By the way, that test was like one out of about seven or eight tests I had to do, so I wouldn't exactly consider it a reliable source.
