Well, we all know BF works in a 7-11, so no worries there.

Sorry if the poll won't work for you.  Just post then!

I find that to be one of the most indignant questions one can ask... but I always NEED to answer it. :D

What's your tiff?
It's totally anonymous.

I'm always curious about Detnet's demographics.

Damnit ...I'm 0 for 3 today on polls.  I was going to be the only one yet to vote the last one.
Even though I do know what the number is  ....I think no matter how much you make you know exactly how much it is anually.  The sad thing is that I still don't own a house.

Maybe a better question may be "What's you debt to income level?"  I think that gives a clearer demographic picture.  Students always have this crazy ass amount of debt and I wonder how long it takes to get all caught up.  Is anybody close to paying off a loan?  Did somebody just take a big one out in the hopes of finishing Med school?

You can sponsor me for college, Wiley.

That's possible???
I've never heard anybody say that before. 1/4 of the people in my office make 2,000,000.00/yr or more  ...and everybody whines and bitches that they could be getting more if they left for another company.  I'm always wondering what enough is  ...and why is it enough?  Personally I would be happy with house and a boat that were paid off and maybe about 100K/yr(after tax) coming in for living expenses.  That way I would have enough to eat out and to travel a bit, but I wouldn't loose touch with reality.  Is that enough?  Would everybody else want more or less?  How much is enough?

How much is enough?

<dr. evil>  1 meeeeeelion dollars </>...... hourly

Honestly, Im happy with what I make.  I happen to make more than most people my age yet the people I do know that make more than me never seem to have $5 in their pocket to fill their tank.   I have alot of toys and the time to use them.   Personally i think people who complain about not making enough money usually dont manage it right.  I could do everything I do now on $35k a year, it would just take a little more work to make it happen.

I don't make enough money.

I avoided getting a summer job, so my 'job' would be writing the game... Raking in a whole $33 in donations, at an estimated 250 hours of real *work* on it, that puts me at... 13 cents an hour. Just above Indonesian child laborers.

I shoulda gotten that job.

last summer i had an office job. i was an intern in the computer department of some company.

i had a desk. i had a switch box. i had a computer.

id build computers for about 3-4 hours a day. easy, really. instal win2k and switch back to my computer and play games. switch back to the other box and instal MSoffice. play games. instal updates. play games. hook it up to the network. play more games.

at other times i just hauled computer stuff around the building. big monitors, other equipment. or id just watch my boss do the SQL server stuff.

then played more games.

$9/hour, 3 days a week. 8 hour day.

goddamn i loved that job.

Last summer I worked in the bush.

$15 hr/ 10 hour days/ 5 or 6 days a week

Did I mention that was night shift? Except for one week of 14 hour days on dayshift.

This summer? I'm starting my commercial lisence training. So that equals little income and more debt.

I make so little money I steal other people's used chewing gum to stick on my shoes so that I can collect all the dropped change on the sidewalk. Ever see a gum-covered nickel? It passed my way. cry.gif

What's a nickle?  Can you use it like a credit card?

Back in the day, people used what is known as "real" money.  They had pieces of paper and small metal objects that they attached value to.  But those were just avatars for the gold that had the same value as the slips of paper and small piecies of metal.  And that gold had value "because it is shinny".  Basicly, the entire monitary system is total BS and only functions because we as a people want it to function.  I say instead of dollars and cents (pounds and pence for all you Bloody Brits) we should use Goats and Sheep.  Could you just see having to get change for a Goat?  "That'll be 1/2 a goat in change.  Could I borrow your machete?"  To make more money, you just feed your money and let it squirt out a few more pieces of money ever year.  Now you don't have to work in office buildings anymore!
