Well, in approximately 1 hour I'm going in to have my wisdom teeth removed...all four, with the bottom two severely impacted. I guess this means that the slight bit of intelligence that occasionally creeps into my posts will now be gone.Anycrap, wish me luck, and I may be a bit out of it for a while. Be a man and don't take painkillers. Save them for when they're more fun.Good luck. Posted by Nikita on Jul. 12 2002,19:12
Do local anesthesia! It wasn't so bad ... but I hate needles.Save your teeth and make a necklace and spin up some wild story about how you got them ... Posted by Bozeman on Jul. 12 2002,20:57
Don't listen to Beastie, take all the painkillers you can. If theyr'e SEVERELY impaced, you'll need them.

If you can't take blinding pain for three days, don't talk to me.

I had that sort of thing done when I was 15, and I don't recommend it.I believe the hard part is eating anything. Beldy is not a happy camper right now, depending on his meds. Can I buy any extras? No Vicadin please though. Posted by kuru on Jul. 12 2002,23:58
I had my jaw bone shaved to try to fix my TMJ and I was wide awake for the whole surgery. It wasn't too bad, kind of hurt a little, but mostly it was just interesting to watch it in the mirror. Posted by Beldurin on Jul. 13 2002,04:19

I don't think you want me to, but here goes... woke up from the general anesthesia confused out of my mind, didn't know where/why I was...mouth was stuffed full of gauze, face was swollen, couldn't feel my lips/tongue/chin, couldn't walk on my own, hands shaking, tremendous pain... that was 9 hours ago, my mouth hasn't stopped bleeding, I lapse in and out of consciousness, the pain waxes and wanes, I have to change the blood-soaked gauze in my mouth every 45 minutes until the bleeding stops (I'm running out of gauze), I can't concentrate on anything. The only thing I've eaten since 80 Thursday night is a milkshake from Burger King, but I can't drive anywhere to get another b/c if the drugs and I can't get ahold of anyone to bring me something. Finals are next week. I'm screwed. does that qualify as hell? Posted by Bob_the_Cannibal on Jul. 13 2002,09:01
beldy: I told you that bitch Karma would take a major portion of your ass when you 'employed' those somalian children as bodyguards.but nooo, you didn't listen. Codiene is fun. (has tylenol 3 stashed somewhere) I got a Chaintech GeForce 4 Ti 4200. IT SI TEH BADASS! I'm motion sick. and waiting for HomeLan to E-mail me my uname and pass for 'America's Army' (that game) Posted by Bozeman on Jul. 13 2002,14:50
Beldurin, do you have a blender? If so, you can make your own shakes.BTC, you are right. Codeine IS fun. Beldy, make sure you don't take too much. I did, and my body adapted to it, so it didn't work anymore. If it stops working, go to a doctor and have him prescribe something different. Posted by forumwhore on Jul. 13 2002,16:11
damn Beldy, wish I could email myself over there.I remember the milkshakes, but not the bleeding. I wish they would tell you, "btw, you will wake up in a room you've never seen" and I wouldn't be so confused... They're right, easy on the meds, don't adapt to them. Every day will be hell, but less hell than the day before. I'm here if you can type again, d00d. Posted by veistran on Jul. 13 2002,18:18
all four of mine were impacted, one came out in many pieces. Lucky for me (I suppose), my mouth is rather resiliant and I had a speedy recovery. The biggest thing I can say is make sure you drink lots of water, I can't stress it enough. The worst part is when you can actually eat solid food again, but it's really slow 'cause your jaw can't move for shit. edit: oh and for me at least, the worst pain came the day after the surgery. Just try not to think about the blinding, throbing pain. Just put that pain out of your mind totally. If something reminds you of pain then try to focus on something else. Your friends are here and don't want to see you even think about the pain for a second.hope everything gets better quick. Posted by LiNeY on Jul. 13 2002,22:25
I had that done a couple years ago...My recipe against pain was to listen to jazz... bebop recordings by Charlie Parker. They're so crazy you actually forget about the pain... metal/hard rock stuff might do, too. Good luck, man. Posted by ^Oni^ on Jul. 15 2002,17:12
Are you sure that wasn't a veterinary licence on the wall?
