I am looking for a Spanish brandy for my man's birthday present. He told me about a brandy he wants. All he knows is that it has a number in the name of the brandy. Yeah.... um... oooooook... NOT ENOUGH INFO  *doh!*

Do any of you have a recommendation for a Spanish brandy?

Well, no, but I had a favorite drink when I lived in Madrid;
It's Sol y Sombra  (sun and shade)

2/3 cognac, 1/4 anise (in the US use anisette) with a dash of whiskey.

Makes two shots.

Purrrrrr.

I learned a lot from that drink; at touristy bars, it would cost 2$ and lack the whiskey.  Go uphill just a few blocks, same drink, 1$.  Tourists don't walk uphill.

Go to a tiny bar in the boondocks that never gets a tourist, same drink, 1$, with all the ingredients.

It became my defacto bar-test.

Have fun, CL.   purr

how bout getting a coke bottle and add a little bit of beer in it and write the name of the drink that he wants on it and tell him that the spanish people have changed the way they make it... you can save probibly a bunch of money on it.. hehe...  sly.gif
