Yeah, I'm kinda confused on that netquiz one... I got past the first two levels easy... Not sure if it's a bug or what, but it won't let me past the email your friend level.

... cyber army is a bunch of loser 12 year olds who (4|\|'7 7yp3 right, anything with "hacker" in the domain instantly loses any form of respect in the sense of computer knowledge (if you're a "real hacker", you don't need to tell people, people should know), and 120\% (yes, one hundred twenty) of the "root the server and win!" things are fake as hell, and anyone who's been using unix for more then a month and reads bugtraq can take over in 20-30 seconds. If you want a real computer challenge, learn INTERCAL and program me a algebraic calculator that will show me exactly how the work is done as if it was done by hand. This has been another friendly "You're an idiot if you believe any of that shit" reminder from your neighborhood asshole. Goodbye. ------------------ Posted by miNus on Oct. 08 2001,22:46
You forgot the "you are the weakest link" part, I think.

Which there is a very good chance, Regis, that I am not.I always thought it would be funny if the audience purposely voted for the wrong answer if it was a stupid question the person was using a lifeline on. Posted by Hellraiser on Oct. 09 2001,01:11
"You've achieved the rankUltimate of the Pyramid." Now where do I go? I suppose I should check out the forums or something. BTW I'm 14th on the list of Ultimates in the Hall of Fame. บ to first person to tell me what my name is. You, my friend, are Joshua Keeler.

I dunno how many ppl here are actually into the computer security, and I don't recall seeing a thread about it recently. Here are some links of good "hacking" challenge sites.< http://www.cyberarmy.com > < http://aspect.l8nite.net > < http://www.hackerslab.org > < http://try2hack.nl > This one is about mathematical challenges, but its similar to CyberArmy. Anyone else with sites like these plz post them. This message has been edited by StanVanDam on October 09, 2001 at 12:18 PM Posted by just_dave on Oct. 09 2001,05:39
< www.pulltheplug.com > they list a ton of unix boxes and linux boxes you can try to root.. once you get root.. you just explain how ya got it and they let you keep it.

Well Spydir thank you for your addition. You probably didn't get very far on these challenge sites. I am in Cyberarmy and I don't go out and talk to random ppl within it like you. That way I don't have to know that they're a bunch of 12 year old losers that have nothing else to do. I am in it for the challenge, and I talk to the ppl that know what they're talking about. I didn't say I was unreal at cracking things and that I wanted something to prove my 1337n355. I asked for fun and interesting challenge sites. I will look into this Intercal since you brought it up. And personally I've never tried any of those "hack tha box" challenges. How impressive would it be to build that program you refer to? Can U do it? That prog just sounds like another programming language. I don't see how that is a "challenge" or related to computer security. Did you even attempt any of these challenges or could u not get very far?

I've done numerous "challenges", and completed the lot in a few days (I'd say around 12 hours total time), and the longest one took me would be around a week, or about 40 some total hours. People have paid me to help check for security problems on their systems. I'm not claiming to be a security expert, but I'm just saying that most the "security" problems people have are just common sense. Security is 10\% software, 90\% admin.I never took part in any cyber army crap because I don't see the point. I don't really care for your opinion on it either. You can take that as a offensive comment if you like, but it's the truth. As for INTERCAL, it's obvious you have no clue what it is. That's not a bad thing, but actually a good thing. INTERCAL is a program language that was more a rumor for years, and a complete joke, until someone actually made it a real language in the late 80's/early 90's (I think, this is all from a really bad memory of a paper I read on it). It is supposedly so confusing and so far from anything you could imagine, it's almost impossible to program with. I have never so much as read any INTERCAL source code, and will not claim to. As for the algebra calculator I was talking about, yes I am programming one. I'm doing it in perl, so once it's "finished" (read: can do more then "a - 13 = 54") I can code a simple cgi front, or even put a gtk front on it. So yeah... why is this in the classroom anyway? It should be in the geek forum. ------------------ Posted by Dark Knight Bob on Oct. 10 2001,09:39
